toddler clingy to me "vent"

My toddler 2 1/2 years old is like clingy and will not let me do anything he wants to be held all the time and he cries and cries if I try and do anything , I am 36 weeks pregnant and not able to pick him up as he is to heavy

He senses the baby's presence and is already jealous. Make sure you have special cuddle time and lots of him time with no baby talk.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that though. I'm sure it's frustrating.

Definitely cuddle time. And sit down so you can "pick him up." I don't envy you. Towards the end of my pregnancy and right after my c-section I told my then 2 1/2 year old that momma couldn't pick him up and that it would hurt me and just made sure to spend lots of time with him sitting down or laying in bed. And now I am sometimes carrying almost 50 lbs of kids around. Fun!

He senses the baby. I would spend some extra time being affectionate with him if I were you, but also let him learn that he needs to be more independent. Does he have a special toy that you can use to distract him. Or, does he like a certain movie or cartoon that he can sit and watch alone?
