Baby Pools

School me - I'm thinking about getting one for something to do during a hot day (in the shade)

Those of you that have them - do you fill them up with water from the hose and let it sit for a while so the water gets warmer? Throw your kid right in the coldish hose water?  Put in a bucket of warm water from the house?

I'm over thinking it!

Do you just get the simplepool or would you "splurge" for the slightly bigger one with a built in slide, etc?

Re: Baby Pools

  • I haven't used one yet but I have a hard pool vs. and inflatable one because I have dogs. I'm going to use water from the hose and put the water in the pool early so the water warms up.

  • I bought this one off Amazon for 12 bucks.  She loves it.  I fill it in the morning to let it warm up a bit.  It's usually nice by afternoon.

  • Where I live, hot water comes out of my hose first before the cold LOL. I would maybe fill it and wait a little while. Who knows, though, maybe your LO likes cold water.
  • We have a hard side one. If I think ahead I'll fill the pool up and let it warm up a bit. If its a spur of the moment decision it's ice cold. The girls don't seem to care either way.

  • We bought the basic, $7 baby pool from Menards.

I fill it from the hose and then let it sit for a while to warm up.

    Have fun!!

  • I just bought a cheap blow up ring pool. I fill it with two buckets of warm water from inside the house then the rest with the hose. That way I can put her in it right away...

  • We got an inflatable "family pool". It is 2 feet tall but long and wide enough for us to get in with him. We just filled it and empty it once a week to be able to mow. He loves it because he can stand in it or sit on our legs.
