Our little girl is due August 26th. I was told at 24 weeks that I couldn't work anymore due to low fluid levels and because she was small. We went to the specialist when I was 26 weeks and she said that yes my fluid level is low, but it's just something we'd need to watch. She said that her size was small, in the 30th percentile. I went today because I was having a lot of pain, and her weight was 2 lbs 11 oz. I have been told by my doctor to expect her to be small, but I'm confused because everything I'm reading is saying that that's not small. Anyone else know their baby's weight at 30 weeks? We go to the specialist again a week from today so I will ask her then. I was just wondering personal stories from other moms! (I am obviously a FTM.)

Re: Confusion on Weight
At my 30 week appt, my OB said that LO is a little over 3 lbs. But every mama and every baby is different. I've also heard that when it comes to percentiles anything under the 10th is when you have to worry. Don't quote me on that, that's not my own research.
Just go with what your doc is telling you, if he's not worried, you shouldn't be either.
At 31 weeks we were at 2lb 12oz. They said he's measuring about 2 weeks behind. We were getting u/s every month to monitor him b/c of the radial aplasia. He was measuring right on track with his due date until a month ago.
I am now going for fetal monitoring 2x a week for the rest of pregnancy b/c they are worried that my placenta is starting to not work as well. (Risk of IUGR) They check my fluid level, which was 12.5 today. (They want to see at least an 8 and anything between 5-8 would put me on bedrest. Under 5 most likely be hospitalized)
What have they suggested you do? I need to make sure I'm drinking lots of fluids and resting whenever possible. For now I'm still allowed to work, but there is a possibility of being pulled out on disability in the future if there he continues to fall behind.
Wow, this is almost the same thing going on with me and our little girl. Twice a week NSTs and amniotic fluid checks. Last ultrasound she was in the 12th percentile, my next growth ultrasound is next week, I'm hoping she has had a growth spurt or something!
Thoughts and prayers being sent your way!

Thanks. Hope everything stays good with you & yours too.
Today was the first day of monitoring. I've been trying to up my protein intake to see if that helps. Part of me feel really guilty b/c I've continued working out pretty hardcore throughout my pregnancy and now I'm worried I was 'stealing' calories from my baby. I'm limiting myself to only yoga until delivery.
OP, check out this site where you can input your fetal measurements to see what percentage baby is in.

When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

This LO was measuring 3lbs 6 oz at 30 weeks. Dr told me measuring right on track and no worries.
For what its worth, with DS, he measured 7 lbs 13 oz at 35 weeks. He was born at 39w4d and was 7lbs 12 oz.
30th percentile isn't small.
Anything between 15th percentile and 85th percentile is well within the expected range of "normal". All 30th means is that if you took 100 babies and lined them up in order of weight, yours would be 30th. The goal is not for all babies to be 50th - obviously that is impossible.
It really sounds like you have nothing to worry about.
