Hi, I just found out I'm pg and need to find an ob/gyn. We just moved here from out of state last year so I hadn't gotten around to finding a new doctor. We live in Media so Riddle is the closest hospital, but all my neighbors say Lankenau is the place to deliver. All the doctors though who are affiliated with Lankenau are pretty far away, and I know how often those doctor appts are (this would be my third child). Has anyone delivered at Riddle? How was your experience? And do you have an Ob/gyn that you liked (preferably female)?
Thanks!
Re: Riddle vs. Lankenau?
Sorry for all the grammar errors. Currently bfing while typing!
I delivered my last baby at Lankenau (my OB/GYN was male, sorry).
It was a great experience -- nurses were good and very helpful, place was clean, food was actually quite good, etc. I recommend it.
My only complaint (and this is a biggie) was my anesthesiologist for my C-section, which obviously I was not able to pick, did a horrible job. Long story short, after an extremely painful time getting the needle in my back for my spinal, the spinal did not work on the left side of my body, but despite my telling him this, they went through with the surgery anyway -- and I ended up feeling the operation on the left side of my body. Yeah, I was screaming on the table the whole time, until they got the baby out and were able to give me super strong stuff that basically knocked me out.
Can't recommend their anesthesiologists, but otherwise, the staff was wonderful.
I'm happy to hear such great words about Shima and Seeney.. that's who I'm going to see while I'm in Philadelphia for 2 months
Im
YES! Riddle OB is the practice I go to as well. Dr. Shima delivered my son and him and my husband were joking and having a great time. It actually helped keep me calm. Dr. Seeney did my son's circumcision and she did a great job
Had a wonderful birth experience at Riddle! The nurses are amazing....Nurse Washington was a godsent. I would love to be able to request her next time as well. And the anesthesiologist, GOD BLESS THAT MAN, Richard O'Flynn (of course I remembered his name) was fantastic also.
I would go back to Riddle again!
I was very happy to hear that Lawrence Park also has a pediatrician's office right down the hall. Broomall Pediatrics. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice. I have a few friends who go there as well and they all have their favs. I think there are at least 6 doctors on staff right now and I could throw a stone and hit a great one. My fav is Dr. Lavoe. I never have a hard time getting in for same day appointments, they have non emergency walk in every weekday morning before they officially open and I think they are talking about opening for a few hours on Sunday. They are already open for 4 or 5 hours on Saturday.
Good luck!
