Recommend your potty

I am looking to start potty training and am looking for your rec's on potty chairs.  I have a seat that goes right on our adult toilet but I heard it is beneficial for them to be able to touch the ground when they go #2.  What one would you recommend?  Thanks!

We have a seat for the normal toilet and also a potty seat from IKEA for the floor. If you want to keep the one on the toilet only, get a stool for their feet.

  • We started DD with a Baby Bjorn potty chair. We got the white one so that it was the same color as our toilet and then sat it next to the toilet for her. She loved sitting on the potty, reading on the potty, and started officially using it last month (just shy of 2).  Once she learned to "go" in her potty, we upgraded to a step stool that connects right to the toilet (Mommy's helper cushion seat).  It has a step so that her feet touch and we've retired her potty chair.  I recommend either. We have had easy learning with both options.  I liked transitioning from the little chair to the toilet because I feel like there was no pressure with her little chair, she could learn at her own pace, and then she could graduate to the big girl potty like mom and dad when she was ready.  The Bjorn was also easy to clean and had a splash guard.
  • I also have an ikea potty, 5 dollars I think. My sister's son has the little froggy potty.

  • Thank you to everyone for the replies.  I like the idea of the stool that goes right up to the adult potty but I do like the idea of her starting off being able to get on and off easily on her own.  Love the recommendations!  Thanks everyone!
