Hello Everyone,
My name is Clarissa and I am a migrant from the knot and the nest boards. My hubby and I have been married for a little over a year and we are now dealing with the issue of infertility. As a quick background:
I was diagnosed with PCOS at around 21-22 and was immediately put on bcp to get rid of the extra hair, irregular cycles, etc. I alos started taking metformin, but after one night of neverending diarrhea, I stopped. I've always been a heavy girl, but in March of 2007, I lost about 30 lbs because I was ill and I was put on prednisone for swelling that was Lupus related. Nevertheless, the very next month I got my first period in months and the next month a positive pregnancy test. Sadly, the pregnancy was said to be ectopic and I ended up getting shots to methotrexate to bring my hcg levels down to zero. I broke up with my then bf and never visited the though of children again. Fast Forward...2010. I meet the love of my life while living in Charleston and attending graduate school and we got married in 2012. We've been having unprotected sex for over 2 years and nothing. I finally owned up to facing my pcos issues and saw my ob/gyn last month who confirmed again on u/s my pcos and referred us to an RE. I had a cycle that started April 1, 2013 and by the time I went to my ob/gyn on May 13th, she put me on provera to "start fresh" and 1000mg of metformin. The metformin made me SICK, but after a while I started doing better with it. My provera induced cycle started May 25, 2013 after taking 5mg for 7 days--and started bleeding about 2 days after the last pill. My gyn told us to still DTD until our first RE appt which is scheduled 6/26/2013. Normally I get sore boobs a couple days before ovulation, but currently they've been sore for over 5 days now and i'm having weird cramping going on. I broke down and tested this morning (I could possibly be about 9 or 10 dpo) and got this really faint positive. I'm not sure what to think, so i'll retest in a couple days and if I do get yet another BFN...at least we have our RE appt to look forward to. I'd like to say HELLO to everyone and hopefully we all graduate from these boards soon!!!

Re: The Beginning of a PCOS/IF Journey (And introduction)
Hi there. Congrats on your BFP!
I know that you're new to the infertility board but I just wanted to say that this board is mainly for women who are going through IVF or IUI. We support one another through the process of medication, monitoring appointments, the 2ww and the end results. Please be mindful of coming in here and posting that you already have your BFP in your first post. Although most of us are happy for those who have medical conditions that make it difficult to get their BFP, it could be hurtful to others who have gone through things significantly more difficult than Provera and Metformin and have yet to see that positive pregnancy test. Basically, there needs to be a lot of sensitivity taken into consideration when posting a BFP when you do not have an established relationship on this board.
Nonetheless, I hope this is it for you and is your take home baby.
