Hi guys! I'm so happy to announce that I just had my little shark baby, Razor. He was a little early, which I didn't anticipate, but after 3.5 years of being pregnant I can't say I minded! In fact, I had been doing all the things suggested to help my body go into labor, like long swims, eating spicy tuna, and trying to get all the male sharks in my pod to have sex with me.
This is us together right after I gave birth. I'm so happy Razor didn't need any time in the SICU! (Shark Intensive Care Unit, for you humans.)
The best thing about my birth is that I was totally able to give birth with dolphins! It was an awesome experience and they only tried to eat my baby once or twice afterwards. Epidurals aren't an option for sharks, but my doctor, Dr. Finn, was really great at helping me stay comfortable throughout Razor's birth. It was really quick, I actually got to the shark hospital fully dilated and it didn't really hurt at all! I really think that any of you ladies who are afraid of labor are just silly! It was so easy. I attribute that to the 8 miles a day I swam prior to birth.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind that I've never posted on your board before but I was just so excited about little Razor's arrival that I had to share.
Also I have a question: did you poop while you were pushing? I did, and it was soooooo embarrassing, especially because it was a floater.
Re: Had My Baby!
Monster Truck (It's a GIRL!) is due 19/02/2015!
I scared my dog I laughed so hard.
Best. Post. Ever.
Congrats on your new addition!!
You win.
Bless you AE!
I am sorry you feel like crap! Maybe this will make you feel better - at least humans don't have to nurse babies with giant teeth! Count your blessings!
Congrats! So glad your delivery went well; maybe I will have to try birthing with dolphins too.
Hahahaha- this was great.
OMG the pain!
Congratulations! I'm really concerned though - did you steer clear of coral reefs for your delivery? I know how beautiful a coral reef would be to deliver in, but I really worry about the environmental impact the birth may have to a coral reef.
Along those lines, will you be using kelp diapers on Razor?
I think it is sort of mean of you to question my birth story and experience. Razor and I are very special sharks and we are doing things a little differently than other sharks. Biology is not destiny, you know. I look forward to posting in several months to update you all on how this approach has led him to achieve sharky milestones much earlier than other sharks.

Thanks for making me laugh today!
You win the internet.
Marry me?
Hi SharkMama! Welcome to the board and congrats on your LO! Due to some recent BMB discussions, I have to ask... When did you know that you were pregnant? Was the BFP two whole years ago? So glad Razor didn't have to go to SICU!
