I got a bruise from my first injection of Lupron. I am on a low dose. As long as it isn't growing, I wouldn't be too concerned, but if you're worried, always call your RE.

“All I can say is, it's a sort of kinship, as though there is a family tree of grief. On this branch, the lost children, on this the suicided parents, here the beloved mentally ill siblings. When something terrible happens, you discover all of the sudden that you have a new set of relatives, people with whom you can speak in the shorthand of cousins.” ― Elizabeth McCracken

I didn't bruise, but I have a friend who had big welts that turned to bruises. The pharmacist had warned me about bruising too, so I don't think it is abnormal.
I haven't done lupron, but have had bruising with other injectable meds. Just make sure you don't pull the plunger back when you remove the needle, and do apply pressure to the site afterwards. Hopefully you will have less bruising as you continue. GL!

I had a huge blackish/purple bruise on my stomach from doing a different injectable med. I think I hit a blood vessel, but it didn't hurt...was just really ugly.
I have some bruises too. I also learned that hard way that you need to make sure the needle goes in at a 90 degree angle. I got a huge, itchy welt as a result of putting the needle in a different angle.

girls I'm a nurse, for a short needle you can still put it in at a 45 degree angle or a 90 degree angle. you don't want to massage or pull back on the plunger after injecting unless its the long needle that goes into muscle. I got the itchy reaction after the injections of ganirelix, Lupron, and cetrotide, my body is just slightly allergic to it doesn't matter how you put it in. Yes, bruising is normal. Sometimes you can hit a hidden blood vessel too (I did and started bleeding all over) but its ok. I have bruising pretty bad myself
