Talking?

DS has started saying "Mama." I don't know if he is associating it with me, but I think it's possible he is. DH has now heard him say it (he didn't believe me at first). We've been trying to teach DS by taking his hand and patting our face with it by saying Mama or Dada. When I picked him up out of his crib yesterday, he said Mama clear as day and grabbed my face. My heart just melted!

Any other talkers out there? DS still can't crawl or even sit up for very long, but he sure is chatty!

Re: Talking?

  • Aww, I think I would call that an associated word. But I might be biased.

The only thing it ever sounds like D says is Hi and Hey. But I know he is just randomly doing that.

  • LO  says mama but it doesn't seems to be related to me and is just sounds he is putting together.  Maybe I will start the hand-facing touching thing and see if it works!
  • My LO says mum and dad sometimes he finishes it with dad-dy. he seems to know what they mean too. Sometimes he yells them repeatedly when upset also. I've been trying to teach them to him since day one lol.  He jabbers a lot but not mum or dad, he makes the B sound and lots of other jabber ish.

He doesn't crawl though, he try's but keeps his head down. He can now sit unassisted and catch himself most the time if he starts to fall. So maybe early talker?

  • Asa babbles all the time. He says, "mama, dada, gagagagagagagaga, mummmm, etc." but I don't think he has meaning to any of that yet. It's just so darn cute to hear him babble on and on!!!!!
