Kim and Kanye's Baby Name

It's being reported that rapper Kanye West and his reality star girlfriend Kim Kardashian have named their brand-new baby, born this weekend, Kaidence Donda West. Donda was Kanye's late mother's name, so that makes sense, but, um, Kaidence? What's going on with Kaidence?

I don't mind the name, but I hate the spelling. Of course, I didn't expect anything less than for them to butcher that...

Errr...

Cadence I can stomach. Not my favorite, but nothing terrible.

Kadence is a bit of a bastardization. The "K" looks silly because cadence is a well known noun/verb and most people will agree there is a "proper" way to spell it.

Kaidence just doesn't make sense. Kai = kie (like pie but with a k). Kai does not sound like "Kay". So Kaidence makes me want to say "kie-dence", not "kay-dence". I don't like it, but Kaydence would have made a lot more sense than Kaidence.

Not a fan.

Honestly? Not as bad as I was expecting.

There's a mom in my mom's group who insists on K names, and named her daughter Kadence. I hate it, and the child isn't much fun either. But for Kimye, I'm kind of surprised they didn't go overboard with a weirder K name.

That spelling makes no sense at all, but the name itself seems more pedestrian than I expected.

I have a very crunchy friend who named her daughter Cadence last year. If this source is legit, my friend will just die to know she has the same baby name as Kim K. lol!

(I was really hoping it would be Kleopatra)

Not what I expected at all. If they had spelled it Cadence or even Kadence I would like it more. I don't hate it.

Edit- if this is real I do like the subtle music reference considering Dad's career.

I've seen Cadence which I can tolerate. Kadence is bad enough but why the random i? The only thing I can think it because he is Ka and she is Ki and they are so completely full of themselves. Of course, who knows if it's the actual name anyway. Of course, her sisters are Kourtney and Khloe so it wouldn't surprise me. At least her sister knows how to name children.

According to the radio folks, Georgia is for her father (george) and Donda for Kanye's mother (both deceased). I've only heard Kai for boys too, but it wouldn't surprise me if they jumped on the "boy name for girl" trend.

Her father's name was Robert

His name was Robert George Kardashian.
