Welcome to TTC After Loss. I'm so sorry for your loss but am happy you have found us. ((hugs)) This board is full of brilliant and kind women who have experienced the hardship of losing that which is most precious, and I hope you find great comfort and support here in your journey to your rainbow baby.
For those of you so new you don't know the routine, this is a check-in for newer members of the TTCAL Board. I'm gscoville (G or Gsco for short). Please feel free to use this space to ask those "newbie" questions that feel intimidating to ask on the main board, andI will try my best to get you an answer.
Please take the time to read the TTCAL blog to answer any questions you may have regarding our board etiquette, TTC, miscarriages & loss, and much more: https://www.ttcalblog.blogspot.com/
Finally, if you haven't done so, please post your introduction on the main board including your story.
For everyone else: How are you doing? Any news besides what I've asked about here? Please, if you missed last week?s checkin so don?t have an update here to reply to, post an update and let me know how things are going for you!
???????????????????
Updates from last week:
nyg2042: I know you?re not temping this cycle, but do you know where you?re at right now?
LaRomana09: It looks like you might be O?ing ahead of CD13, which makes for good timing while your husband is still home, yay!
SandSunBliss: I?m glad your first meeting went well, and that you have such a thoughtful and supportive husband. Have you had another meeting since the first? ((hugs)) for getting through your C-section EDD.
shandorfml2: ((hugs)) I?m sorry your cycle is being such an elusive biotch, I know I never really confirmed O in my first post-loss cycle and really had to step back and just accept that I would be wonky and there wasn?t much I could do but wait it out. Hard as all get out, but there it is. FX you get AF soon so you can start fresh!
maydaygirl590: You don?t have a chart so I can?t see, has AF started as you hoped so you?re on to a new cycle?
kistyW13: How was your HCG yesterday? ((hugs)) and FX it down more quickly for you these last couple of weeks!
tubby106: ((hugs)) I?m sorry you?re on to a new cycle. I so hate when we get to our longest cycle length ever and get our hopes up, that?s happened to me the last few cycles with super long LPs and it?s been hard. FX the next one goes better for you!
hlmlvt: Your chart?s looking good so far, FX those temps stay up!
tdf2010: How goes the unpacking, and are you loving your new couch? Yay for Oing a little earlier than your norm and not having to wait so long to get into that 2WW!
L&C2010: I?m glad you got some good feedback on your interviews, although it?s hard to still have to wait I?m sure! With all those missing temps it?s a little hard to see what exactly your cycle is doing, but FX with some more high temps you?ll get confirmed O for CD19 or so as hoped!
mandiroo: It looks like you might be gearing up to O soon, keep up the temping and checking! Are you going to use OPKs as well?
lv2011: ((hugs)) I?m sorry you?re on to a new cycle, we?re cycle buddies to the day once again. FX for a much earlier O for you this cycle, that last one was a doozy to wait for I?m sure!
Mrs+Hebert: ((hugs)) I know how hard it is to wait to test, don?t beat yourself up for starting early. Here?s hoping those temps stay nice and high and you get that positive soon!
CallaLily30: ((hugs)) How are you doing this week? I see you?re charting again, I know I found that to be something proactive (and therefore comforting) to do after my loss, hopefully that?s the case for you too. Take care of yourself Love!
MollySM: How did your doctor appointment go? Hopefully you?ve stopped bleeding and can move forward from here ((hugs))
LiaMadi1: Hey, RL TTC buddies can be an exciting thing! Yay for being 3DPO, I?m sure those dotted CHs are just because you recorded fertile CM after the O day. FF seems to get confused when that happens but it?s not a biggy, as long as your temps stay up you?re set!
stufie: Those are some nice high temps post-O, FX they just stay right up there for you! ((hugs))
ksyknelvr73: How did your boss-free work week go? I work in a satellite office away from our admin, so most of the time I don?t have anyone breathing down my neck, it?s pretty nice! FX everyone in the family is feeling better this week!
AlwaysSunny08: How are you doing this week? No chart to stalk so I don?t know where you?re at, but hopefully still in the 2WW! ((hugs))

Quote of the Week:
???????????????????
Question of the Week: What do you consider to be your most prized possession - as a child, a teenager, and now?
As a child it was probably my Easy Bake Oven, I loved that thing! As a teen, it would have been my drawing pencils, I babysat so many hours to save up for that expensive set and they meant so much to me. Now, it would be my photo collection, I'm a huge shutterbug and love having pictures of everything.

All ALers welcome!
~~Toddler Ticker & DS mentioned~~
My name is Mrs. Woodtick and I intro'd on the main board about two weeks ago. We have had two CP this year and are going to undergo RPL testing before we decide what steps to take next. We struggled to get pg with our DS and I was just hoping that we wouldn?t have to struggle the second time around.
QOTW:
As a child: I can?t remember that far back (that?s so sad)
Teenager: My journal
Now: My wedding ring (silly I know)
My Newbie Question: I have read and searched the blog, but I can?t find the etiquette for my older child ticker when replying to a post. Do I need to do a warning at the beginning of each reply? I don?t want to offend anyone so I haven?t replied to any post on this board, but I would really like to.
After 4 years, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs our surprise miracle is here!

tdf2010: How goes the unpacking, and are you loving your new couch? Yay for Oing a little earlier than your norm and not having to wait so long to get into that 2WW!
Unpacking is slow and steady! It seems like it's never ending!!! The couch is awesome!!! So comfy to lounge in after a long work day! I was so glad I O'd early this month! We had a timeline as to when we could BD because DH had a SA. It all worked out perfectly, even though I don't think this is the cycle.
QOTW: My most prized possession as a child was my baby blanket. I still need when I'm feeling pretty low about things. As a teenager, it would have been my dirt bike! I loved that thing so much!! I don't think I realized how much I loved it until now since I now longer have it. Today my most prized possession would be my cell phone. I know it sounds stupid and very materialistic, but my cell phone has my life on it. It has almost all of my pictures, which I should probably put on Shutterfly.

Oh thanks for checking. Yeah so hoping A F does not show up!!! O came a few days later this month so we shall see. Few more days!!
My prized possession. When I was young had to be my one cat Sherbert. She was my girl for years. Was so hard when I put her to sleep years ago.
As a teenager my horse I was with her all the time with my dad at horse shows.
Now well there are a few but I still have my horse she is now 27. My dad passed 9 yrs ago so she means so much to me!!!
ksyknelvr73: How did your boss-free work week go? I work in a satellite office away from our admin, so most of the time I don?t have anyone breathing down my neck, it?s pretty nice! FX everyone in the family is feeling better this week! My work-week was freaking amazing without her here. I told DH just yesterday how I haven't been stressed for an entire week thanks to that. I wish she were gone longer, but oh well. At least I go on vacation for a week next month so I can have another break. I'm jealous of your satellite office work where you don't have to deal with this much! Everything else is good though - I think I am entering my FW also so just dealing with that and trying not to let it stress me out (yeah right).
Question of the Week: What do you consider to be your most prized possession - as a child, a teenager, and now? Hmmm good question. I would say as a child probably my bike. As a teenager, my car or cell phone (typical teen response), and now...I guess my house?BFP # 1 - 12/19/09 EDD 08/27/10 - D&C 1/26/10 @ 9w5d

Yeah, I know I missed a temp like every weekend. I did a lot of heavy drinking this month and wantedt to sleep late on the weekends so getting up after like 3 hours to take my temp wasn't happening. I also figured it was ok since I would probably just hit the discard button anyway from the alcohol and lack of sleep. I'm pretty confident I O'd about CD 18, but I guess we'll see. I had some spotting today, which is about 2 days earlier than expected for AF. I'm hoping it's implantation bleeding. These few days before AF are always the worst. But if not, there's always next cycle.
Question of the Week: What do you consider to be your most prized possession - as a child, a teenager, and now? Child: My dog - a chihuahua named Spike. I used to leave open chip bags on the floor and he would crawl entirely inside them to eat them. Teenager: My first car. A 1998 black Ford Escort ZX2. I thought I was hot stuff Now: My cat, Simba. DH says that I would pick the cat over him if it came down to it, he's probably right lol.TTCAL September Siggy Challenge: Interesting Interspecies Interactions

maydaygirl590: You don?t have a chart so I can?t see, has AF started as you hoped so you?re on to a new cycle?
Hi. AF came today. So after she leaves, we are officially TTC again. Yay! Only downside is that when we need to be BDing, we will be camping with DH's family. Ugh! Hopefully, we can figure something out.
I do have FF, I just haven't figured out how to put it in my sig.
QOTW: As a child it was probably my model horse collection. As a teenager I couldn't really say. Now, it's a tie between my wedding ring and my kids.
Thanks for running the check-in! How are you doing this week, cycle-buddy?
lv2011: ((hugs)) I?m sorry you?re on to a new cycle, we?re cycle buddies to the day once again. FX for a much earlier O for you this cycle, that last one was a doozy to wait for I?m sure!
It is a new cycle, but I'm doing pretty well with it this time. I've got my fx, too, for a normal O date this time. 27-30 days of waiting is obnoxious! Not to mention I ended up buying and using way too many opk's. I hope to get through this cycle with the 20 I have, and if I end up going through them all before I actually O, then to heck with it. That's my mentality right now. I'm going to temp and opk, but the day I can officially confirm O, I'm stopping everything and letting go.
GTKY: As a kid, I loved my collection of Disney movie soundtracks. I would sing along to them over and over again. I still have them memorized. As a teenager, my book collection was really taking off. I had a thing where I would read and buy as many books as I could off a list of classics. I was a really well-read kid. Today, since people aren't possessions, I'd have to say all the letters that DH and I exchanged during our "courtship". I love those letters, and all the sentiments and dreams conveyed within them.

Can I join? I intro'd on the board a couple of weeks ago, but would like to join here, too! I am currently not charting, but plan to start next cycle if I need to. We are on our 4th cycle TTC since our loss, and I am on CD 16. We are just BD'ing a lot and I am trying to be hopeful. My cycles usually run 30-32 days, so I have about 2 more weeks.
One question: Is there ever a check-in for people who already have a child? Some times some of my venting has to do with that and how my loss has changed my expectations for my family, but I don't want to upset/offend anyone. Just asking.
My most prized possession as a child was probably my blanket (which my sister lost:( ), as a teen it was probably my car, and now it is my wedding ring.

Hi gscoville! Hope everything is good with you!

All are welcome in my posts
CallaLily30: ((hugs)) How are you doing this week? I see you?re charting again, I know I found that to be something proactive (and therefore comforting) to do after my loss, hopefully that?s the case for you too. Take care of yourself Love!
Things are going ok I guess. I'm trying to stay focused on my class and put TTC out of my mind for awhile since I'm away and only have an opportunity to BD on the weekends. I'm assuming this cycle will be a bust so I'm anxious to move past it already and I haven't even O'ed yet. Only 1.5 weeks left of class! I'm really looking forward to being home for more than 48 hours at a time!
QOTW: As a child, it was definitely my cat. I got her as a present for a good report card when I was in 1st grade. She lived to be 18 years so she was always there to celebrate the highs and comfort me during the lows growing up. I was heartbroken when she died in my early 20s. As a teen, it was definitely my car. I loved the freedom it represented! As an adult, it's my dog and my engagement/wedding rings. My dog is my constant companion and I couldn't imagine life without her. I chose my engagemnet/weddings rings as a constant reminder of the love of my life!
I feel your pain on this one! I usually O between CD21-23 but have O'ed as early as CD 15. I use a ton of OPKs since I have had the outlier CD15 and the waiting is crazy! Some of my cycle buddies are halfway through the 2WW before I even O!
Hey, gscoville!! Thanks for the check-in!

MollySM: How did your doctor appointment go? Hopefully you?ve stopped bleeding and can move forward from here.
Thanks for posting. The appointment was terrible. Seeing the ultrasound machine, feeling like I should be 11.5 weeks, wishing things were different -it was so hard. And then seeing that after 2.5 weeks of bleeding the sac was still there was devastating. My body couldn't do anything right.
The next day things changed. I started cramping much more badly and passed a lot of tissue. I am confident the miscarriage finally took place. Since then the bleeding slowed and now has pretty much stopped. I am thankful to be throughthat part, hopeful that everything has passed, and excited that I might not be bleeding all the way through vacation (we leave on Friday).
Now I am just watching my temps, and waiting to see how long we'll have to wait for AF to arrive. Then we'll be back to TTC.

Oh, and I forgot prized possessions. As a child it was probably my cabbage patch dolls. As a teen, my books. And now it's hard to think of something outside of my H and D. But I'd say my engagement ring, which was my mom's.
BFP 3.8.16 EDD 11.20.16
I believe I am about 4dpo. I'm off the bench and was using OPKs. I got obvious positives on Thursday and Friday and my normal post-O symptoms, so I think I'm officially in the 2ww!
My most prized possession as a child was my 101 Dalmatians stuffed animal. As a teenager, I would say my soccer cleats. Now? That's tough. I would say all of my baking supplies and my hydrangeas/rose bushes!

Hi gscoville! Hope all is well with you!
tubby106: ((hugs)) I?m sorry you?re on to a new cycle. I so hate when we get to our longest cycle length ever and get our hopes up, that?s happened to me the last few cycles with super long LPs and it?s been hard. FX the next one goes better for you!
I know, when I saw AF arrive the next day, I was thinking dammit! just when I was starting to maybe think I was going to get lucky. Oh well. The good thing is I'm thinking I *might* finally be getting back to my "real" normal this cycle. I had a normal period (like before the MC) this time, no crazy heavy 7 day deal, so maybe I'll go back to my average 28-30 day cycle with O at approx. CD 15 like I used to have. I did buy a bunch of Wondfo OPKs so hopefully this time I won't run out before I O again, and we can have better BD timing!
Question of the Week: What do you consider to be your most prized possession - as a child, a teenager, and now?
Child - I'd have to say my horse. She was my main entertainment and mode of transportation then.
Teenager - My cell phone. I didn't get one until I was 16, and even though I was restricted on texts and minutes, it gave me more freedom because if I was running late or in the middle of something and wasn't at home and needed to extend curfew, I could call rather than get grounded.
Now - My laptop and DSLR camera. I love taking pictures and using Photoshop and creating websites and other design. If my laptop was stolen or damaged, I think I might die.
Newbie question: I decided to do FF but saw on another post hcg can intefere, I was going to start tempting tomorrow should I just go ahead and start or wait until I'm at zero?
Qotw: child: had to be a stuffed monkey with a music box inside. When the music box stopped working I made my grandmother perform surgery to have removed so he would be ok. It was a very sweet memorable moment
Teenager: had to be my beeper. It was attached at the hip at all times!!!
Now: my 2 doggies Louie and Gracie.
I started temping before my HCG went to zero. It gave me something to do while I waited it out. Also, I saw when I finally O'ed (CD31 after my m/c) and it helped to know when I should expect AF. I think it's up to you, but for me it helped ease my crazy that AF would eventually return because I had a two week heads up since I knew when I finally I O'ed.
stufie: Those are some nice high temps post-O, FX they just stay right up there for you! ((hugs))
Thanks! I have to say I was pretty emotional when my temp dropped a bit this morning. I had a really rough day emotionally. I find when I am getting close to AF and get little signs I am about to start, I tend to get irrationally angry for about a day or so.
I had some weird pink spotting today, but I am trying to just tell myself it's nothing. I should know by the end of the day Friday if this is our cycle or not.
Do you have a special camera you use for your photos? I would like to buy a nicer camera, but I'm not really sure what to get.
Thanks. I'm going insane. I wish I could just go into a coma until Saturday...

SandSunBliss: I?m glad your first meeting went well, and that you have such a thoughtful and supportive husband. Have you had another meeting since the first? ((hugs)) for getting through your C-section EDD.
The support group is going well. Tomorrow will be our third session. It is the first one that my DH has to miss because of work, but I think I will be ok. We are supposed to share something that reminds us of the babies. He even asked me to take something for him, so I think it is doing him more good than he cares to admit! Thanks for the ((hugs))
Question of the Week: What do you consider to be your most prized possession - as a child, a teenager, and now?
As a child: probably my horsies (I had a set of plastic horses and a barn they live in - it was my favorite toy)
As a teen: my car, no doubt.
Now: I would also say scrapbooks and photos. Unless my dogs and DH count as possessions. If so - no doubt I choose the living items!

Stufie- was this question for me? If it was, I have a Canon T3i. It's not a top of the line camera, but it's perfect for what I use it for. I got a bundle package that came with 2 lenses and a bag from Best Buy. So far, it fits all my needs (I'm no professional), the pictures are very sharp and I can shoot in manual mode or in auto depending on the picture I'm trying to take. The video capabilities are awesome, crystal clear. I prefer the Canon brand, my SIL loves her Nikon. But you can get a similar model as mine in Nikon.
I hope im not breaking etiquette rules but I did get my bfp a few days ago. Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of this check in, it was so helpful. Best of luck to all of you!
I don't know what the ettiquet is either, but congrats and GL. Hopefully not to long to we join you on PgAL!

Welcome to the checkin, I'm sorry for your losses ((hugs)). I think your ticker is just fine, it's pictures that are generally problematic for some. Of course I'm not the board guru, but I'd think you wouldn't need to post a warning just for your ticker.

Yes, I truly appreciate not having the bosses "in the house" for the most part, we do our work and never have any politics-type conflicts at our location, it's so nice!

Yeah, it's hard to get a 'good' chart going if temping is off, but really in the end all any of us can do is HIO and hope for the best, temping doesn't make that part of things happen any better, just confirms we've O'd. FX for this to be your cycle! Oh, and it sounds like you have, and have had, awesome pets!
