My 9 WK old has recently been chewing/sucking on hands all the time. She rarely takes a paci. She used to only do this when hungry or tired now she's doing it all the time. Anyone else's LO doing this?
yes! all the time...and it came with more drool too. i learned at a mommy and baby support group that around 2-2.5 months they get more saliva enzymes. not sure if the hand chewing/sucking is because of the extra drool or coincidence.
9 wks tomorrow and yep, my DS sucks on my arm, my finger, his wrist, fist, fingers...whatever he can manage to get in his mouth. He won't take a paci. And yes, he's droolier than a St. Bernard.

Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only one. I thought it was weird that my little fella likes to suck on my arm. I figured it was because he doesn't breastfeed (I EP) that he decided my arm was enough. But, nope - looks like everyone's little ones are doing this now around the same timeframe. Whew!
Re: Chewing/sucking
Yep, he only does it if I don't feed him fast enough. His hands fly towards his mouth, usually hitting himself in his eye before his mouth finds them.
He chews on my finger too.
yep, total bash to the face really hard or he'll gag himself on his fingers. i love these little uncoordinated boogers!
