  Hi amd, drool rash is awful!  I wouldn't say we "beat" it, but we kept it under control.  M is a major drooler - he soaks through the A&A super-absorbent bibs and his shirt underneath within an hour.

  At night, we put on petroleum jelly on his face before bed.  It really seems to help.  If it's still bad during the day, I put on the jelly before naps as well.  Sometimes I'll even put on a little lasinoh nipple cream on his when he's up during the day.

  Did your pedi suggest hydrocortisone?  I don't know if that's really such a good idea... what you really need is a good water barrier for the skin.  GL!

  Agree with all of this. We put petroleum jelly on at every daytime diaper change and even put Desitin under their chins before naps. Just be careful not to get it near their mouths. We haven't had a real problem with it in awhile and now only put petroleum jelly on when it starts to get red.
  
  ETA: I should mention that Aquaphor actually made DS1's rash worse, but he has ridiculously sensitive skin. Perhaps your LOs do too?

  Can't remember if you are BFing, but breastmilk is great for rashes!! Good luck, poor guy!

  Thanks ladies!! I will try your suggestions. I hate thinking I'm making it worse but you're right! I gave him a bath and it improved a little. Maybe petroleum jelly is a better idea. Thx again !!
