Has anyone tried the Mixie bottle?

I've been looking at the Mixie bottle, that keeps powdered formula and water separate until you need them mixed.  i thought it would be handy for travel, but at $20 each plus nipples, I'm not sure if it's worth it or if it's a gimmick.  Plus I haven't found it in Canada so I'd have to drive to WA state to look for it. I'm not going to leave the country for it if it's no good.  Has anyone tried it?  Is it worth it?

Re: Has anyone tried the Mixie bottle?

  • I had never heard of it 'til just now and it looks pretty cool. If I wasn't so excited about the Bare baby bottle shipping out next month, I would definitely try Mixie. I noticed they sell them on Amazon.com... I don't know if Amazon ships to Canada but if they do that may be an option for you. They also have a pretty no-fuss return policy if you end up hating the bottle.

  • Tommee tippee has an insert that you cold put in the bottle to keep formula and water seperate but in the bottle. This is probably cheaper, and they work great.

Evidently it's a pain (and pricey) to get amazon.com things shipped to Canada.  I usually go through amazon.ca but the Mixie wasn't listed.

I'll also check out the Tommee Tippee, thanks!

  • A friend of mine uses the Mixie bottles for midnight feedings, says they're great.

  • Haven't tried it but would warn that a freshly mixed bottle needs to sit to prevent air bubbles=gas.  I'd sooner just bring along something like a Similac on the Go 8oz.
