The nursing bra hookup never worked for me, I needed a firmer "smoosh" of flange to bewb, so the hands free bra was key. I would just zip it on over my opened nursing bra when I pumped (in my office - glamorous!) and took it off thereafter. I think I had the Simple Wishes one (some name like that).
Good luck with the transition back to work! It is tough but you can do it!

I couldn't get as much support as I felt I needed cutting holes in a sports bra. A friend cut holes in an old wired nursing bra and that worked well for her, but I ended up buying a Simple Wishes on the cheap and haven't regretted it. I only pump a couple of times a week and it's worth it to feel comfortable.
Total yes!!! My hands-free bras were SOOOOOO worth the money I spent on them. I bought 2 - a medela one and a simple wishes one and both work great.

I have about 3 sports bras that have holes cut in them. The key is to make the holes small and stretch the fabric around the flange to get it nice and tight against you. Works like a charm. I bottle feed twins and pump at the same time with this method. Either way, handsfree is the way to go!

big yay for hands free. I used it for pumping and driving too so I could spend less time at the pump when I was home too.
I had a hands free bra, but I also took my old belly band and cut holes at the nips and wore it like a bandeau
I am impressed! I have pumped in the car too, but only in the passenger seat. And yes, my Medela pumping bra has been awesome. I had my MIL run out and get me one my second day in the hospital.

Loved my hands free bras when I was EPing. They def came in handy on the mornings I slept late. I was able to pump on the way to work in the car. Saved so much time!
I never tried making ones of my own because I didn't want to ruin the bras that I currently have and buying one to ruin just seemed counterproductive.

I use a hands free bra at work and am able to do my work while attached to the pump. Best thing I ever spent money on. I got mine from a local breastfeeding store four years ago and it still works well today.
