I see and hear all these other mommies feed finger foods from their babies tray. I have tried this a few times, and all he does is throw it everywhere. I even show him how to pick it up and put the food in his mouth. He stares at my, grabs a handful, and flings. I can pick up pieces and put it in his mouth. Either he doesn't get it yet, or he feels like he is a little prince that is too good to eat with his hands
Re: Throwing food
Is there a food he really likes so he would be motivated to feed himself? I can put fruit, cheese, etc. on his tray and he could care less but he will feed himself cheese puffs and bread all day. My little guy will feed himself, but he has no interest if taking a bottle or sippy cup, so I am equally frustrated just with a different issue. I also got this container which has a lid and he can reach his hand in and grab snacks and they can't fall out and make a mess. I fill this up with cheese puff and let him have it in his lap on the car ride to his grandma's everyday. Yeah sometimes he drops them, but I like letting him practice feeding himself.

He will eat puffs from his tray but they aren't exactly nutrition.
I feed LO from the tray but towards the end of a meal when she's less hungry she "plays" more and will fling some food on the ground. I noticed if I say a stern NO she actually smiles and wants to do it more. I generally just say "no thanks, this is yummy"...more ends up in the mouth than the floor so I'm ok with it. My dog is an awesome vacuum cleaner
Have you tried just putting 1 or 2 bites in front of LO on the tray. When my LO gets real bad I keep a plate by me and only give her 1 or 2 bites at a time. Atleast then fist fulls don't end up thrown.
