Stroller Recs

Hi all you experienced mommas out there!

I'm pregnant and looking for some stroller recs.  We live in the city and I know I will be using a stroller a LOT to get around!  I know I want something easy to turn with 1 hand, something with some sort of storage, and something easily foldable.  Any other considerations you would recommend?  Any particular brands/models that you looooveee?

Thanks! :)

Re: Stroller Recs

  • I have a travel system I love
I think it's called the fast action fold?
    It's from graco
Has a nice space for storage, two cup holders for mom, and being able to just snap the baby in is a blessing when you're out shopping
I have no complaints it has worked wonderfully for me
    Folds with one hand too
You pull the button, and twist and push down
    It really easy

  • I would suggest the City Mini. You can add the car seat bar to make it a "travel system", steers great, very durable, and has many amazing features. It's one of the best strollers out there. You will want one that will take the beating of city life, I wouldn't suggest any of the premade travel systems for that. They just aren't made as well or as durable as other brands like Baby Jogger.

  • I have the uppababy vista and I love it.  The bassinet was super handy when DS was a new born.  I also have the bar that converts it to a travel system as well which is super handy.  Now DS loves sitting either facing forward or facing me.  It truly is an all inclusive system.  I've easily been able to commute on trains and buses or in and out of the car.  It can be a bit heavy but thats not the end of the world for me as I'm fairly strong.  It is also a very rugged system and lasts.  I got mine used from a friend who used it for her daughter for 2 years.

I have the uppababy Cruz. I love it and using it with a car seat is easy. It's lighter than the vista if weight is a big consideration.

For me, it depends on if you plan on having another kid.  I loved my Bob Revolution stroller when I had DS#1, but had a hard time finding a double stroller that I liked.  I tried the double bob, but it was just way too huge to use as a daily stroller.  I tried a couple of sit and stand strollers, but they were bulky and DS#1 never looked really comfortable.  I finally decided to spend the money and got the Baby Jogger City Select. LOVE. IT!

It is one stroller that I can get to work whether I have one kid with me or two. Wish I had known about it when I had DS#1. You can get a carseat adapter, a basinett, and a 2nd seat for the same frame.  It would even work for twins.  I love the different ways that the seats can sit too.  Basically it starts out as a single stroller, but grows as the family does.

  • We have a City Classic from Baby Jogger and they don't make that exact model any more but it's very similar to the Elite. We LOVE it. It glides so easily, has the easiest fold I have seen in a stroller ever, has an awesome canopy, etc. We live in the city and still occasionally use it with DS1 (3yo) and now we use it with DS2. It's held up amazingly well. Our boys are in a stroller way more than they are in a car :)
