Bbt and bf help

my dh and i are just starting ttc #2. I am very familiar with charting and temping from when we were ttc #1, but not sure how bf affects the temperatures. I have been charting since my first postpartum period about 1 1/2 months ago and have been getting readings all over the place. Can bf make your charts crazy? I have been getting very large variations from one day to the next, sometimes as much as .9 of a degree. Honestly, I can't even tell if/when I ovulated because of this. Any experience? Thanks.

    I'm charting while BF and cosleeping, and while my temps are all over the place, I can definitely detect ovulation. Take a look at my chart for last cycle and you'll see what I mean. This cycle is similar, and I'm hoping for a big shift to indicate O soon. Good luck!

    ETA: Weaning may not be necessary to jump start ovulation. You may just need to space a couple feedings more. Check out the kellymom.com info about fertility and breast feeding.

    When we were trying for DS2, I had a similar experience as what PPs have indicated. I was lucky that my CM was very telling, and I was able to predict when we were ovulating even though my temps were whacked. I charted several cycles before we were TTC and used that information to guide me.  Hoping to do the same thing this time.
