Mobile: Sorry I've been MIA (Long Whiney Vent)

This past week has been crazy. Wednesday was DS's 9m check up. He's healthy and growing like a weed in height but doesn't seem to be gaining weight as quickly as he was. He's very active though so the pediatrician isn't concerned right now because DS eats alot, has plenty of wet & poopy diapers, and is healthy. Just to keep an eye on it though we're going back in 6wks for a weight check. He only got one shot, his last Hep-B shot, so I figured it would be easy. Well later that night DS spiked a temp of 101, was screaming and crying, and refusing to eat. He has never reacted to a shot like this. I called the ped first thing in the morning and he tells me that this isn't normal. Long story short they couldn't find anything physically wrong with DS but his temp would not break. The ped was talking about sending us to the emergency room and at this point my nerves were shot. DH couldn't leave work and I had to hold DS down for his exam, strep test, and medicine while he cried and screamed bloody murder.

Luckily the ped let us go home. We continued to alternate Tylenol/Motrin and B finally allowed me to feed him a whole bottle. On Friday morning he was still really cranky, not much of an appetite but at least his fever was down to 99 instead of 101. They are thinking he may have already had a virus when he got the vaccine. Then of course AF decided to show up two days late. I guess it was stress related but since this was our first month TTC again I was disappointed.

Saturday DH had to work and I was home with DS all day by myself. I felt terrible but just contributed it to a crappy AF. We went to my IL's for dinner and by the time we got home I literally felt like I got hit by a truck. I started having chills really bad and it turns out I was running a fever of almost 103. I spent all day Sunday in bed and the fever broke Sunday evening but now I have a horrible sore throat and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow because she thinks I may have strep throat.

I just wanna cry. All I can do is hope and pray that DS doesn't get sick again. The worst part of all of this is not being able to hold, kiss, or play with DS. He's going through major separation anxiety right now and all he wants is mommy.

Wow, I am so sorry you've had such a sh*t-tastic week. Lots of healing prayers for you and prayers that DS doesn't get sick again. Hope things are back to normal for your whole family soon. Also, so sorry about AF, she's a freakin' nasty biotch!

Big hugs, all of that stinks. And hopefully the virus you got is the same as what he had, so he's already pumping antibodies for it. Also, my older DD was slow to put on weight and still is, but was still growing appropriately and the pedi has assured me she is just fine. She always ate well too. At some point they slow down, so he might be just hitting a lull too.
