Marital problems - tell midwife?

My husband and I have been arguing a lot recently. I am seeing my midwife tomorrow and I would feel weird telling her because she knows us both and I don't really want to air my dirty laundry to her. On the other hand, do you think the stress/yelling/crying is important enough of an issue with my care that she should know?

 Thanks.

  • I would mention it as she may be able to refer you to someone to speak to, either alone or with your partner, to help you overcome this. I wish you all the best!

ditto the pp.  Strife can actually affect your labor, so she's someone who should know.

If you're early on then I probably wouldn't mention it unless you feel it is out of control and you need help.

You could just tell her you've been stressed out lately, and leave it at that.

  • Thanks everyone. I will go ahead and tell her. I have been so worried about how my feeling could affect my baby. And yeah, I agree with you guys. I am starting counseling on Friday.
