Expecting Twins - no symptoms.

Hello everyone. I am excited to be posting that my husband and I are expecting twins. Although we are early and found out last week due to an early u/s. I started spotting last week and they were able to see me last week. We wanted to make sure everything was fine and to our surprise... we saw two sacs and two yolks. Dr said it was too early to see anything else and was fine with what they saw. Dr prescribed progesterin gel and then switched to endometrin tablets due to insurance not paying for the gel. Since then the spotting has subsided. I was feeling a little scared because I have no symptoms. I mean this past weekend, off and on I felt sick. But this morning, I woke up feeling fine. Which obviously caused me to freak!! I just want to know if anyone has ever experienced this and has positive outcomes. I m/c twice before this both with spotting and cramps. I know I need to stay calm and positive but it's super hard with past experiences. Thank you all for listening to me rant.

  • Give it time.. Some start morning sickness/nausea right away and some wait a few weeks.. Some don't get it at all. Every pregnancy/person is different.

This exactly. I never had any M/S but throughout my pregnancy I had huge emotional surges. It's different for everyone. Congrats on your babies!

  • Congratulations on twins first of all. Second I have had no m/s to speak of so far. Just tired and hungry. Everyone is different and from what I understand if you don't suffer from m/s it is a blessing. Hoping for a h&h 6ish more months.

  • Congrats!

I am 19 weeks today and haven't had any m/s or overly emotions days or negative symptoms. Been more hungry and sometimes more tired but that's about it.

It's great to be one of the lucky ones!

  • I am 7 weeks with no nausea at all - I get a bit of a sour stomach if I go too long without eating, but its SO mild, if I didn't know I was pregnant, I would have no clue it was pregnancy related.

Frankly, I thought they would find a blighted ovum since I was feeling so good - not TWO BABIES with strong heartbeats! ha ha ha. What a waste of worrying that was.

How far along are you? Weeks 9 and 10 have the highest m/s hormone surges, so you could just be too early.

  • Thank you all for your responses. I am currently 6w2days. I have another ultrasound on Friday and I will be closer to 7 weeks. I too feel sick if I do not eat for a period of time and that is when I feel like I will vomit. I appreciate your responses. I hope all is well with all of you. I will def keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. <3
  • Only symptom I ever experienced was a growing uterus and no period! No ms, no swelling, no nausea, no cravings. Nothing.

  • First off, congratulations!  I didn't have any real symptoms until around 8 weeks, and even then, I felt like I had very mild motion sickness--never stopped me from eating or functioning.   At the start of the 2nd, I felt great and that was the extent of it.  Hopefully you won't experience anything because I have seen it in full force and I always am grateful for not having any.

my ms kicked in right 7 weeks and raged for weeks.  I was very tired by the end of day. Sometimes I would have to fight not to fall asleep at my desk but like I said not until like 7 or 8 weeks.  So while that is like next week for you in pregnancy time that is a long time.  Or you could be a lucky duck and feel great!

I had some spotting around 6 weeks too.My twins are now 3!  good luck and take care.

  • My first two pregnancies were singletons and I was horibly sick for my entire first tri. This pregnancy, nothing. I have maybe a total of 4 days of acute m/s but thats it. Dont base how your pregnancy is going by the amount of m/s you have.
  • I didn't start feeling any symptoms until 9 or 10 weeks, then the ms hit and I wished for those early days! In the first few months I constantly worried that something would go wrong, every ultra sound I would think they would look and nothing would be in there. I don't think anything would have stopped me from feeling that way though, just hang in there and take one day at a time.

  • I am 13 weeks and expecting twins and I still have spotting as long as pain is not followed then dong worry to much but still let your doc know
  • I didn't have any symptoms for the first few weeks during my twin PG (I didn't have spotting, though). I was convinced that our IVF didn't work because I felt completely normal...and then I had the u/s and discovered I was pregnant with twins! Ultimately, I only ended up being really sick once or twice during the first trimester. Consider yourself lucky to be symptom free!
    Twins November 2012!
