Let's talk diaper bags

Did you have a huge one or your duos, trios, or quads?  I'm having a hard time finding one that I like that isn't essentially a big purse.  Friends with twins or more thn 1 kid tell me I need to go bigger and less purse-y.

  • I use a Kate Spade Stevie baby bag for my trio, and it's plenty of room.  It is basically a giant purse, but it works for us and of course is super cute.

  • Wow, the Kate Spade Stevie bag is gorgeous.  The nicest purse-style bag I have seen.

With being a 2nd (and 3rd!) time mom, I am definitely more practical and cost conscience this time.  I just could never justify spending that much on a diaper bag, so I ended up getting the much cheaper JJ Cole Caprice.  It's more diaper-bag than purse, but I love the price, the padded straps, the cross-body strap, the roomy size, and all of the compartments.  My bag for my first baby was more like a purse and it dug into my shoulders so bad and always fell off my shoulder, when trying to hold a squirmy baby.  I must be getting old ; I'm becoming cheap and way too practical. ;)

  • I have a coach bag. I got it on crazy sale at the outlet and it was well worth the price. I find that it meets my needs, but I'll put extra things in my trunk if we will be out for the whole day. If we lived in a more urban community, I think I'd need something bigger for the all day trips.

  • with dd I used a small messenger bag, she never needed much stuff. I didn't know about diaper blowouts until the boys came along.

This time, after trying a few others (stork sak hobo bag-which I loved the look of but things got lost inside and then skip hop versa diaper bag-which was ok) I went with a dad gear back pack that I got on zulily. I love it. It opens all the way, has a light interior so you can find stuff easy. It also has dedicated diaper pockets and a wipes holder, along with insulated bottle pockets. I love it. It straps to my stroller easily, it doesn't fall down my shoulder when I'm trying to carry a baby or two, and it's not to girly for DH.

  • We are planning to use an ivivva althetica bag called "dance to the beat" I believe it's sold out at the moment but may come back. I'm a dance teacher and found that dance bags work great as the shoe compartments fit bottles and there's tons of pockets for all those random things dancers need. Lulu lemon and ivivva come out with great bags as long as you catch them before they are sold out! Ivivva is way cheaper though and same company just kids stuff. :
  • We have the PPB Abundance Boxy in Classically Crete. It holds a ton and is well made. We get compliments everywhere we go. Even when DH wears it!
