It has been very high on our list for most of this pregnancy. I think it's lovely and ages well, albeit slightly trendy.
In case you care to know, the reason it's being edged out for us is because so many people assume it's a nn for Theresa. I personally prefer it as a standalone, but wasn't crazy about the idea of everyone always asking me if it was short for something.

Just wondering why you think it's trendy. Not trying to snark, just curious. It's mid 200's on the SSA list. It's high on my list for a future baby girl, so that's why I was wondering. It was supposed to be my brother's name in the mid-80's and I've always loved it.

It's getting popular. It's seen on several TV shows now, it's seen on this board often, there has already been a Tessa born to a fellow June mom. Tessa has been high on my list for 9 months, so I've been very aware of its rise to trendiness. :]

I guess I was confused because it fell in popularity. I guess I'll just keep my eye out for next year. It's been on my list since I was 5, so I do try to keep an eye out for it, but I don't know any IRL. I did see it was a character on Suburgatory and I wasn't pleased about that.
My name is Tessa! Most people call me Tess, or tessie bear haha noddy anybody?. I do occassionally get asked if it is short for anything, and even less often get call Theresa, which I do find annoying, especially for example, at the doctors, and they have my chart right in front of them, with my name on it! And it quite clearly is Tessa, but they call me Theresa anyway.
I didn't really love my name as a child always called Tessa, and I felt it was more of a grown up name but I much prefer to be called Tess now.
Also, I do get called Jess, at least a couple of times a day! I work in a salon, and no matter how clearly I answer the phone, clients just hear Jess.its NBD though.
Re: Tessa
I like it!

It is a front runner for us if this baby is a girl.
Love it!
I once worked with a Tessa. She was very intelligent.

DD is Tess which I personally slightly preferred to Tessa I have never been
asked if its short for anything.. I think to me it was one of those names that was
adorable on a little girl but also very strong on a grown woman.
