I'm approaching my 5th week mark but was wondering if there is a time when I should start applying the coco butter / stretch mark cream. When did you guys start during your last pregnancy?
Itchy scars? Wow this all sounds wonderful : sighokay i'm off to CVS today.nbsp;
It's a waste of money right now. I start using avocado oil on my belly around 20 to 25 weeks, when the stretch is noticeably uncomfortable. You can't prevent stretch marks, but the oil will help with the itching and keeping the skin hydrated. But if you want to start now, spend away!
Oh, immediately, three times a day.
Nah, it doesn't work. Moisturize to help with the discomfort from the stretching but you're either genetically prone to stretch marks or you're not.
This is what my midwife told me during my first pregnancy. Also, staying hydrated is supposed to help the elasticity of your skin.
Ps I got stretch marks during puberty and none during pregnancy. It could all be just a crapshoot.

This makes me feel a little better. I got super stretch marks my teenage years from my expanding hips and crazy boob growth. I'm going into this assuming that I'll get them, and will be pleasantly surprised if I don't.
Re: When to start stretch mark cream?
This. You'll either get them or you won't but the creams won't help that. It will just help the itchyness.

When your skin starts to stretch it will cause it to itch.

This, although I only made it to 34 weeks so I could have easily had some if I made it full term.
