So I'm laying here on bed rest, and just thought of something... I got my first rhogam shot at 23 weeks due to bleeding. I'm due to get my second shot on the 18th of this month... However, I started spotting some at the hospital yesterday after my exam, and I'm still bleeding a little today... Should I have been given my second shot?

Thank you!
If everything is well and normal, you get it at 28 weeks and after the baby is born if they have Rh+ blood. But in cases of bleeding, since they can't be sure where the bleeding is always coming from, they will give it to you then as well. Last pregnancy I had to have it at 12 weeks due to bleeding in addition to the other two times and this time I had to have it at 15 weeks as well as the one at 28 weeks. I will need it again after the baby is born if he/she also turns out to be Rh+.
The reason they give it at 28 weeks, is what I stated above. It typically stays in your system for about 12 weeks from what I've been told so it should get you through delivery when the mixing of blood is most common/probable until you can find out if you need it again.

It is from the exam. He's aware of it, I just forgot entirely about the shot. I'll mention it Monday...
