We're between 8 and 8:30, but it's what works for us. If 6:30 works for your LO your relatives need to butt out. They don't have to deal with a toddler without sleep!
At 14 months up until recently DD (now 21 months) bedtime was 6-6:30 because that was the only way to get her good sleep since she was waking at 5:30am. She has gradually pushed her bedtime (she is in bed by 6:45 but not asleep till 7 or so) back and often sleeps later in the am. She spends time talking to herself before falling asleep no matter what time bed is and I'd rather have her down a bit early then have her super overtired.
We still sometimes get comments about how early that is but the same people also say what a happy kid she is and one big reason is that she gets good sleep.
ETA: we have to be out of the house by 7:30 on daycare days so that is part of the reason for the early end schedule.
Normally he goes to bed between 8-830. He has transitioned to one nap so last night we put him to bed at 730 and he slept just as late (or early because it was 6 am)
