DS is just shy of a year. He points (mostly to objects in books) like he's poking something, and he started waving on Monday. He still doesn't clap. The pedi wasn't worried about it at his one year checkup yesterday.
DD does all of these inconsistently, but does not crawl, stand, pull to stand, etc. I agree with you, it is hard not to worry. She's now the only immobile baby at daycare.
The twins are almost 11 months. If I help them clap, they will open their hands but won't clap on their own. Neither point or actually wave yet. I'm not worried. They are too focused on learning to walk. Both can walk while holding my hands. DS is starting to do it while only holding one hand. Both come to me and basically take my hands so they can walk.
I think they will both be walking by 1 which is in 5 weeks and 2 days.

This. My DS turned 9 months last week and he just started doing the gestures along with some signs all within the last few days, but doesn't crawl, pull up, etc.
DS is almost 11 months. He high-fives me, but doesn't clap his hands together. I don't think he points or waves. Also didn't crawl until a week ago.
But he knows how to feed himself with a spoon, stack blocks, and sort objects according to colour. So I think every baby has areas that he/she is good at.
My other kids all pointed 1112mo. My 10mo isn't doing it yet. He just started clapping. I had one child clap at 7 1/2mo. I remember my DD waved backwards at 8mo an this guy isn't waving yet either. Really, as a mom of 4, they are all so different.
My LO is not quite 9 months yet, but he just started clapping. He will wave on occasion, but it's not consistent enough to call it waving. It's still early yet.
DD is almost 10 months. She doesn't point at all, she just started clapping a couple of weeks ago, and while she started waving at 8 months, she stopped suddenly after about a week, and just started back up again. The silly girl still doesn't crawl. Don't worry!
My 9 mo old will clap and has been for a month or so. However, no waving and no pointing. He'll look at what I point to now.
We've also been signing to him and I think the clap could sometimes = more. That's a very common sign we give him when we are feeding him. He likes to eat.
Re: Pointing/Clapping/Waving
Thanks for the reply. I keep telling myself that every baby is different, but it's hard not to worry.
DD does these things at random- I can't say clap, sweetie, and she does.
She does it when she feels like it.
I try to associate words with them. If I wave to her, she does the backwards wave.
She started around 8/9 months.
She is now 10 months.
No worries mama!
LO is 11 months actual. She claps all the time and has been for awhile. She doesn't really point purposefully and has only waved a couple times.

Our LO is just over 9 months. He's been waving since probably 7 months and clapping since about 8 months but he doesn't crawl at all...
Many of these milestones can be very inconsistent.... there's nothing to worry about if your LO isn't doing them!
