Itchy skin!!!!

So for the past few days my lower stomach has been soooooo incredibly itchy!! I have quite a few stretch marks (maybe that is why??) and I am constantly putting lotion on because I thought maybe the itching was due to dry skin. Nothing seems to help...anybody else dealing with this? Or does anyone have some other suggestions on what to use to make the itching go away?? Any advice appreciated! (Before I itch my skin OFF!!)

Re: Itchy skin!!!!

  • Just means your belly's growing!  Lotion is about all I can suggest, as long as I put some on first thing in the morning and right before bed I don't have any issues.

  • Your skin is itchy because it is stretching.  Try cocoa butter.

  • I'm about to tear my skin off, too!

Last few nights I've been using Eucerin Calming Cream and it helps a lot. Its nonirritating and fragrance free. I can't stand the cocoa and shea butters because the smell drives me nuts.

  • Thank you ladies!! I will try some of those suggestions!!
  • yep, skin is stretching. I use cocoa butter every day, seems to help.
  • Try stretch mark creams or tummy creams for pregnant, those helped me!
  • Coconut Oil!!!! Best stuff ever and you can buy it at the grocery store. Yes, the same stuff you use to cook with can be slathered all over your body. I get this kind:

I buy it on Amazon. You want to look for "extra virgin", "organic" and "cold pressed". My friend liked the one they sell at Trader Joe's if you have one of those close to you. I cover my whole body with this stuff after I shower and reapply to my belly whenever needed. And just because I love this stuff so much, here are 100 other uses for it!

  • I am soo feeling u on itchy. I use a aloe and vitamin e lotion that seems to help.
  • Almond oil!
  • Use a mirror and see if there are little red dots or bumps - like a rash. If so, it may be PUPPPS. You'll want to check in with your doctor about it. I ended up on steroids because it was so bad last pregnancy.

  • I use a calming/soothing oil after the shower while my skin is still wet, and then cocoa butter after I dry off. The oil gets into your skin quicker when it's still wet and the lotion seals everything in. Works wonders!!
  • Try CapriClear. It's an all natural spray on moisturizer which will help alleviate the itch your experiencing. It's great for you to being pregnant, because it's all natural and doesn't have any chemicals in it that would irritate your skin.  Give it a try.  You can find it either on their website or try Amazon, CVS, Rite Aid.
