The hubs is interested in getting a second opinion re: DS's ears. He's had a set of tubes, one was coming out, so it was removed immediately after his ear started draining horrible fluid, took him back in, they drained his ear and it appears his ear drum ruptured. He was put on antibiotics and all seems better, however DS complains a bit that loud sounds bother him. We've been going to Pediatric Ear Nose and Throat by CHOA, so any other recs would be great!
TIA!
Re: ENT Recs
When I was getting recs a few years back for dS1, everyone recommended that practice BUT there were a lot of differences in which doctor to go see in the practice. You might want to get a second opinion from one of the other doctors.
Bailey is very sensitive to loud sounds and with people touching his ears. He has nothing wrong his ears or hearing but he still will complain if something is too loud.
Agreed. We saw Dr. Baktha and were extremely pleased.
We have only seen Dr. Thomsen and I highly recommend him. He's always so gentle and has fantastic bedside manor. He came recommended from my BFF who was a RN in the PICU. He's only at the CHOA office and we drive from Acworth past the Matietta office to see him. Good luck.
Same here!
Awesome! Thanks girls! After prying the info out of DS my MIL got him all freaked out about DS's ear. Which is totally fine, but I couldn't figure out for the life of me where he was coming from.
Thanks again!!

Here too!
We just had Isaac's tubes done by Dr. Baktha and we are supposed to go back in a couple weeks to have his hearing checked. He was mildly impaired before the surgery and IMO his speech was behind where it should have been. Ever since the surgery he is repeating EVERYTHING and talking more in sentences. I think we will see that his impairment is gone. If your DS had any impairment before the tubes then he was used to it and now that there is nothing muffling sounds it seems louder and that is very annoying. I experienced this when I tried hearing aids and its one of the reasons I prefer to be deaf than wear them.
