Word to the wise: test the paint color in your nursery before painting the entire room. I wanted to and told my hubby we should but with having to paint last minute and choosing a color before leaving town we didn't have time. We brought in the bedding sample to get a light grey to match and well it turned out the color looks blue grey in her nursery. I'm so upset. We hired painters to paint and it took us a week before we could move back into the house because of the fumes so my hubby is adamant that we won't repaint it and i agree, why spend more money to fix something when we csn put that money to something we need. I know it sounds stupid but I'm upset and can't take my mind off of it every time I walk into the nursery. I picked out beautiful grey and pink damask bedding which my friend already purchased so I can't change that. Ugh. Stupid vent. Just thought I'd share the downside of not testing the paint as I've seen some people ask questions about the best way to do it. Lesson learned a little too late.
Re: Baby girls room looks blue
blue grey isn't BLUE blue. i wouldnt worry.
and you actually moved out of your house for a WEEK for one painted room? yikes
We also painted the bathroom and base boarda. We live in a condo and with the intense heat and windows open the smell wouldnt go away. I got sick Everytime we can home to check. It was awful.
This happened to me in the past, I had to re-paint. If you choose a pure grey (just black + white), then it appears blue on the walls in certain light of the day, however if you pick a grey with slight brown/neutral undertones then it looks grey.
Here is a good article to get you started to find a new shade:

Or just try to google some images of rooms with shade you are interested in, and most decor websites will list the shade. Also try Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, they have tried and true shades in their catalogs and on their websites.
Good luck!
I agree - wait till you stage it; I'm sure it'll look fine. And, you'll have a funny story about it...when you can laugh about it in a few months. :-)

Lurking, but wanted to suggest that you can change your light bulbs. Not sure what you have now, but paint looks very different with different bulbs: Incandescent, vs CFL, vs LED. And if that wasn't enough choices, Incandescent and LED have options for softer white and brighter whites.
Good luck!
