Short Cervix?

Well I'm 36 weeks, 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced, so my OB said my water could break any day, so I'm keeping it low key as possible and trying to stay off my feet as much as possible. I'm so tired, exhausted and frustrated that I've been on bedrest for the past 3 months. Ready to give birth and have this be over with, I just want to meet my lil peanut! Anyone else in similar situation?

Re: Short Cervix?

  • I am a few weeks behind you, but cannot wait for this to be done.  I have been 95% effaced and dilated to a 3 for many weeks, and still am watching for stronger contractions or my water breaking.  I would love to get to 35 weeks and and be done.

Expecting twins! Put on strict bedrest at home after preterm labor at 22 weeks. Hospitalized at 22 weeks and again at 29 weeks. No more please!

  • I totally know the feeling. I was on bedrest from 20w to 36w (so 4 months) due to short cervix. I just got off bedrest last week. And, while it feels great to be off bedrest, my body is so shot from being in bed so long that I can barely do anything. I can't wait to get back to my old self.
  • Stay off your feet and relax these last few weeks! I also had a short cervix, and it can be very frustrating when you can't do what you normally do. Enjoy the quiet time now ;-)
