I have a city-mini and mostly like it but the back wheels are so wide that it's just not practical in all applications. So now I guess I'm looking for a suped-up umbrella stroller. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced lightweight stroller that has a good sun shade and reclines?

The Valco Snap is a great non umbrella option. It's only about 20 inches wide and the fold is similar the CM. It also has a great canopy and basket. If you want an umbrella option, the G-Luxe is nice too.
If I were you I would sell my CM and get the Snap. Most of the same features as the CM but it's narrower.
Love my G luxe...the UV shade is amazing. I would highly recommend. I wish they made a double one.
I have the double version of the Valco snap as well it seems to be really neat. Not sure if the single is less wide than what you have, the only advantage of it over the City is the bigger basket and lighter weight.
The CM is 24 inches wide and the Snap is 20.5 I believe. Most umbrellas are around 19-21 inches wide.
I honestly don't think they are that wide and not that big of a deal. I never get stuck anywhere and I can't think of a place where I would need narrower wheels. Maybe the OP can enlighten me?
I guess I just don't get the need for another stroller.

I find the CM cumbersome indoors. Specifically shopping (which I do more of than I care to share). I get stuck on clothing fixtures, cannot fit around tight displays, I even get stuck going through doors. Some of that, admittedly, might be due to bad driving but I just cannot seem to get used to the width of the back wheels. Now outdoors that stroller is awesome. Additionally we could use an additional stroller that my DH can keep in his truck. That way we don't have to swap the stroller back and forth.
My friend has the Trend Sport (from Babies R' Us) and recommended that but the reviews are less than glowing. I'm going to check it out in person.
Thanks for all the responses.
