Babies: 3 - 6 Months

I need input

My used to be very content baby girl has been all kinds of fussy.  She used to sleep through the night and now wakes up one to three times. She is VERY hard to sooth back to sleep.  I was giving her a bottle bc I thought she was hungry, but I don't think that's the case anymore.  Now she is just really fussy all the time.  She just had a bottle and a nap and and she is screaming.  She doesn't have a fever and I don't know what to do or think. HELP!

Re: I need input

  • Maybe a growth spurt, or teething? I am sorry she is being fussy, that's hard to deal with at times. My LO has a tooth peeking through, and she has been fussy all day long! Hardly napping, and right now she is in her crib singing to herself instead of sleeping. Last night, no sleep until 11 after two hours of driving around!

Hope your LO wakes up tomorrow feeling happier!

  • Could be a growth spurt...or teething. How long are her naps during the day?

My DD got like that for a couple days and then would sleep all day the next day because she tired herself out. It is exhausting I know, when DD got like that I had to carry her around the house for over a hour. You can try maybe giving a bath a hour before her bedtime.

  • No suggestions, just here to empathize. My little boy is 14 weeks and we are finally starting to turn the corner from a very fussy 6 days. He is normally a very happy baby so this was definitely not the norm. Thankful that its not, because man it is hard to cope! Hoping your LO turns the corner soon!

  • She usually naps for around 30-1 hr. I was thinking either a belly ache or teething.  But it's been days so I think I'm ruling out belly ache, but I don't see any teeth either.

  • I am right there with you! My normally happy go lucky little guy has been fussing a lot this past week. He's been super hungry so we increased his ounces but he still was getting upset. I thought teething as well but maybe it's just phase they're going through?

  • It better be a phase or this momma is going to start pulling hair out!

  • possible 4 month wakeful, with fussiness due to an increase in tiredness? could also be teething...

  • it absolutely sounds like the 4-month wakeful period. we're going through the same thing here now too. fighting naps, and wakes up a lot from sleep, hard to put down to sleep and increased fussiness all day bc of bad/lack of sleep! it'll pass!!
