Choosing obgyn

Is it ok to be picky on who you want you obgyn to be? I mean I have chosen a doctor but going to have to wait until my insurance changes to set up another appointment since they don't accept that insurance. I can't even pay for my appointments because of having insurance. A few people have told me I need to stop bein picky and just find a doctor that accepts the insurance I have.

    I disagree. I have had the same obgyn for 11 years. I would be devastated if I had that happen.
    We should have the right to be picky, their being picky by not accepting your insurance.
    Try asking someone in your area of theirs and maybe you can check for a temporary one.
    Have you called insurance and ask who is in ? Then ask of anyone had used them.

    I don't like the local doctors. I stopped seeing my obgyn before I got pregnant because she kept insisting on me tryin to keep my mirena when she even told me it was going to cause problems. And the closest one that does accept my insurance is over 40 miles away. That's just to far. I'm hoping my insurance swaps over within the two week period like its supposed to. I have TennCare. So dealing with the state is a pain anyway.

    yes tenncare is good once it is working, I deal with it on a daily basis. Their changing all the id numbers was a nightmare to come in to. I hope you ca find someone soon you like :) I love the one in hermitage I go to. I so hope you get one closer. Hartsville? Is that where you are?

    Yes, my preferred doctor is in gallatin, it's also my sister's doctor. I love the people there and absolutely love how Bradbury is with her patients.

    Well hopefully it will work out. I drove over an hour to stay with my md. Hope it all works out and with new updates work better.

    Be picky as hell. I have heard too many horror stories about crappy ob's who don't care about what their patients want. Find someone who will make time for you and puts your needs before the money.

    I loved using Bundle of Joy in Gallatin. I prefer midwives over OBs, they are much more personable. You should feel like your doctor or health care provider is a friend, not just a financial transaction. 

    And Bundle of Joy takes TennCare!

    Seriously check them out.
