Onward to IUI #2. I hope that this one is it. My follicle growths and E2 levels are 100% better this time. I changed quite a bit of things to improve my chances. FX it works. Any 2 weekers with me? Would love to have someone to talk to during this time. My last IUI I went crazy. My hormones from injections had me overly sensitive, and I'm not a crier. Baby dust and Blessings to everyone.

Hi, I just joined The Bump. I am scheduled for an IUI tomorrow as well Smile I'm really excited about it, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I tried in October 2012 and had one egg, did the IUI, but did not get pregnant. The next month we tried again, but the doctor took me off clomid and had me strictly on follistim in hopes that I would have more than one egg, but instead I had no eggs. That cycle had to be cancelled. We took a break for about 5 1/2 months, and now we are trying again. This time I almost thought my cycle would have to be cancelled again, but I went in last Friday and I had 1 nice egg Smile I would love to talk to you while we wait our 2 weeks. Best of luck to you.

Hi Jen,

I had my first iui in March. That one through me for a loop and on top of that, I got a cyst. I never had a cyst. It was painful as I don't know what. Took a break to get myself better prepared, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am glad I have someone to talk to this time around. FX and loads of baby dust for the both of us.

Hi Sunni,

Yeah, it's amazing how stressful fertility treatments can be. We took a break mostly because we drained our piggy bank in November on Follistim. We kept having to buy more and more until the doctor finally decided that it wasn't going to work.

This will be my third baby if I do get pregnant. The first one was totally unplanned. He will be 8 in August and is severely disabled. I think of him as even more of a miracle now that I know I have fertility issues. His father and I are divorced now, and I remarried a little over 4 years ago. We found out, after 9 months of TTC, that I have PCOS. After about 6 months of trying Clomid, increasing the dose each month, with not enough growth in my follicles, I was referred to a fertility specialist. I took Clomid and Follistim, with and Ovidrel trigger shot and got pregnant on the first IUI!! I couldn't believe it! We now have a beautiful 2 year old boy. It has been very difficult going through fertility treatments with kids at home. We live two hours away from the fertility specialist, so it has been a lot of travel with my two-year-old (I would have my mom babysit but we are keeping this whole thing a secret in hopes of surprising everyone). Tomorrow I have to take him with me, but my husband will already be there waiting for me. I really hope this works because it is so much to go through.

Will this be your first pregnancy?

Yes this would be my first. I am doing this all by myself. And I know the feeling about the meds. They are so expensive. You would think if you can get money for help with cosmetic surgery, you could get help with money for infertility. Go figure.

No one knows. I am keeping it to myself until I'm in 2nd trimester. Infertility is hard enough without people who really don't know what your going through, saying things that can hurt. I am glad you have kids already. I wanted to wait till I was set in my career, to get to where I'm comfortable to bring a child into this world. Now I think I waited to long. FX'd though.

Getting ready to leave for my appointment! My husband is already there doing his part. LOL. He'll have to wait around for me for about 3 hours.

For the last 24 hours I've had horrible cramps. I've read that the Ovidrel shot can cause that. Have you experienced that?

Good luck today! I'm not sure if it's 12 or 14 days that we get to take our blood test. Seeing as how day 12 would be a weekend, we'll probably have to wait till day 14

I did not have cramps last time nor this time. Today I feel really bloated. So i think i am ovulating. Yah..... Last time I could not even wear jeans almost the whole time during the injections. Good luck. I know your on your way to RE office.

Hi all, Just joined the Bump and had IUI #1 yesterday morning. Hoping your IUI's go well this morning!! I used Gonal-f and had 2 big follies, and 2 small/medium sized follies. The whole process is new to me, so not sure what I should be "feeling" or expecting... But I'm hoping it works! The wait is already so difficult!

Livi216, you are down almost down to 12 days to wait, and we are down to 13 days. I hope it goes by fast. Now that we're all done with shots and stuff, it feels like there is nothing to do but wait. I guess my other kiddoes will keep me on my toes though.

My IUI went well. My husband waited for me there and was very supportive and kept our son entertained. They said he had a good count too, so I am very hopeful. It hurt like crazy though, and I felt very sore later on this evening until I took some Tylenol. Did anyone else feel that way? It almost feels like you just gave birth (not that I know what that feels like since I had C-sections, but I'm guessing).

I'm trying so hard not to daydream about a baby and get too excited. I was disappointed back in October, but I would be even more disappointed this time around. Did any of you realize that we can take a HPT on father's day and possibly get a positive? Then you could slide it into a father's day card for your hubby Smile I don't plan on telling anyone else until I at least have my first ultrasound to confirm that it is a viable pregnancy. The last time I went crazy and told everyone immediately. I'm so lucky that everything went well with that pregnancy or it would have been very hard.

I thought the same thing about HPT on Father's Day I can't decide if I'm going to take a HPT at all...or just wait until the blood test...

I didn't feel any pain post-IUI, but I definitely felt bloated and very "full". I took it easy after the IUI, and felt a bit of cramping when I would walk around or up and down the stairs. Today (1dpIUI) I'm feeling completely back to normal. Not sure if this is a good thing or not.

Everything went well at my IUI. No cramping, no pain. 3 hours later, I had cramping for about 20 min. I haven't decided when I am going to test. I am most likely going to wait for blood work on the 17th. I promised myself I would take it easy this time. I twisted my ovaries and wound up with 2 cysts. Never had cysts before. Very painful. I did not even know you could twist your ovaries. No working out for 2 weeks. It's going to kill my sanity. FX'd, GL, and Loads of Baby Dust to us all.

I wonder why my IUIs were so painful compared to yours. I guess it was mainly due to the speculum. It hurt really bad in October too, and I thought it was just because the doctor was not as careful, but this time the nurse did it and it was very painful too. Thankfully I am feeling almost normal again now.

As for testing, they usually would tell me to do a blood test on day 14, but this time they said I could just do a HPT and if it is positive, they can confirm with a blood test. Just 4 days shy of 3 years ago, I had my first IUI. I couldn't wait to find out if I was pregnant, so I think it was day 12 that I took my first HPT. It had a very faint line, but it was definitely a positive. I took another one the next day, and the line was even darker. I went in for a blood test the next day and waited very impatiently to hear the results, even though I knew what they were probably going to be. I now have a 2 year old boy I will probably try a test at day 12 again just for the heck of it. I did so last October too, but with negative results. At least it was easier to handle the news when I got my blood test results back.

I like the extra attention I'm getting from my husband today. I hope we won't be disappointed.

By the way, Livi, I wouldn't worry about feeling "normal" right now. That is not a bad sign at all. You won't start to feel anything for at least a week. I remember the first sign I noticed in 2010 was probably day 11 when my breasts started to feel so sore that I couldn't stand it. I don't remember if I had implantation cramping or bleeding. I don't think I was aware of those things if I did.

How's it going today, ladies? Only 9 or 10 days to go until testing (or maybe more depending on what your doctors told you). I'm finding it easier to be patient today than yesterday. Life feels like it has just gone back to normal and yesterday was just a dream, except for the fact that I keep wondering if I am actually pregnant. How are you all handling the wait?

Hi Ladies,

Haven't heard much on this thread for the past few days. I assume you all are keeping busy. I've been trying to do the same. I think I might take a HPT on Thursday or Friday morning. It's a little early, but according to the tests, it's possible to get results that early, and I've gotten early results in the past. We'll see.

Today I've had some cramping. It's 6 dpiui, and I thought implantation happened 7 - 10 days post ovulation. Maybe it happens on Day 7, which would technically be today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I started having cramps that lasted about a half hour yesterday and then went away. Then today around 11 a.m. I started having more intense cramps. I was feeling so uncomfortable that I took a long nap. I felt better when I woke up, but the cramps came back as soon as I started moving around. I don't want to tell the hubs and get his hopes up or look stupid if I'm wrong. What are you guys experiencing, if anything? Hope all is going well

I would love to join this thread! I had my second IUI on 6/6/13. I had some cramping today. I dont want to get my hopes up. I had 2 follicles this time but my DH count went down. RE said the chances are still in my favor. Im wishing on a baby!!

Had any of you taken progesterone post IUI?

Hello everyone!!! Everything is fine on my end. I had constipation this weekend and cramping at night for the last few days. The kind that wakes you up in the middle of a good sleep. The cramping lasts for about half an hour, then I go back to sleep. Don't know what to make of it. I guess all I can do is roll with the pouches = ) BABY DUST and BLESSINGS!!!

hmphh... i might switch my RE if i dont get a BFP. Mainly because I dont feel like he is doing the most to increase my chances. I didnt find out about pregestrone until i joing this website. The nurse said its not necessary because my levels arent low but I still want to be test post IUI. Thanks again for all the supprt. All these little signs are driving me crazy. I cant wait until the 18th.GL and Baby Dust to you too!!!

As for the cramping and stuff, if you are on Progesterone, you might start having pregnancy symptoms from the medication. My sister was on that after in vitro, and she experienced a lot of symptoms from it. Not trying to burst your bubble, just wanted to let you know that it could cause some of the symptoms. Hoping for a BFP for you, and I too hope everyone will update with their results.

What day will you be testing, imgettingmarried? I am thinking of Friday because that is day 12 post IUI. Three years ago, I took the test on day 12 post IUI, and I had a faint but definite line! I'm hoping for the same results again. There is only a four-day difference between this (hopefully) pregnancy and my last pregnancy.

Crazy Symptoms

OK, this is weird. All weekend I have been constipated. Today i have the runs-TMI I know, but along with that, this morning I found lumps in right breast. Now it is the afternoon, and now I have lumps in left breast as well. Yes I'm in tww, but i did not have this last time. Should I see the doctor? or just wait till I see my RE at end of tww on the 17th? Can anyone shed some light on the situation? I am getting worried about the lumps.

Sunni, if I were you, I would call the doctor about the lumps. That sounds like something that might be a cause for concern. At the very least, maybe they will say it is normal and you will be able to stop worrying about it. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Jen82J, I also think I'm going to test on Friday. That will be 12dpiui for me. I've had on and off "symptoms", but I've tried to not think too much into it since part of me wants to feel symptoms!

The only somewhat distinct symptom that I've felt was sharp pain/cramping (in a very specific spot) at 7dpiui. I had about 8-10 seconds on the right side, lower left (by pubic bone) and same thing on the right. I have mature follies on both side on day of IUI. Hoping that symptom is a good sign...

Today my nipples were just a tad bit more tender than usual but not really any more tender than they sometimes are when I'm on Provera. I'm hoping they will get worse with each passing day (although that's really no fun) because that will be a sure sign that I will get a positive this weekend I just hope I'm not making this stuff up in my head. I know I definitely had bad cramping on Sunday, but nothing much Monday and nothing at all today. Hopefully that means it was implantation day

Hi Jen, I have been anticipating testing on Friday also. I had no symptoms until yesterday. Today my boobs are still killing me. I took off my jog bra and I had to bend over cause I couldn't touch them. Little twitches in pelvic area on and off today. Good luck and don't test till Friday Baby Dust to ALL

I always used to daydream about having twins when I was a kid, but now that I have two kids already, I realize how difficult just one baby is, let alone two. It probably wouldn't happen if I am pregnant now since there was only one follie, but if it were to happen, I'd be happy and we'd survive...somehow Smile

I was to go into my RE tomorrow and test for prgestrone but they called this morning to say I should come in and call in 2 weeks with good news. Sometimes I dont think they check me as much as they should. Since everything is OOP I should accept it as a savings but I want to make sure Im doing everything possible for my baby.

Tomorrow is the big day for most of us Smile ...the first day where we might actually get a positive HPT!! I, for one, am not feeling very hopeful. I was so sure all week long that I was feeling symptoms, but then I went and took that stupid test yesterday, and even though it's not a rational thought, I am so afraid that the next test will be negative too. But then I keep reminding myself that when I was TTC three years ago, it was exactly the same number of days, Monday through the next Friday, that I took a HPT (at night) and got a very faint line. It was so faint that my husband thought it was negative, but I had taken enough of them to know that it was positive. The next morning I used my first morning urine and got a little bit darker line, and the next day I got a much more noticeable darker line. I have to keep reminding myself that there IS still very much a chance that I could be pregnant right now, and that all of you could as well.

I hope everyone will share their results tomorrow.

Try to keep in mind, some people still have late implantation. It is still just 11 days and you could still get that positive as late as Sunday. Lets not loose hope. I am anxious to test tomorrow. I know for sure that the Ovidrel is completely out of my system by then. Lets pray for Friday. Big Prayers, Baby Dust, FX'd.

Tonight I started getting some pinkish spotting. I figured it could still be late implantation, but then I went to the bathroom again and it had changed to red blood and it was enough to actually drip into the toilet (TMI, I know). It seems like it's an actual period starting. I started getting somewhat intense cramps a little while ago. My period isn't due until at least Monday, by my calculations. This is so disappointing. I am still hoping it could be implantation bleeding, but I highly doubt it. I will call my doctor's office in the morning to see what they say. I don't even have my plan for this month, and I don't know if I'll be switching meds or anything. I think I'll take the HPT tomorrow morning just so I will be able to tell the doctor's office that it was negative. I would hate to start treatments again if this could be a real pregnancy. This is so frustrating! Good luck to the rest of you. I'm still eager to hear of some BFP's Smile

Hello all, we'll I tested today, 11 dpiui, it was bfn. I still have hope though cause we really will not know until 12 or 13 days past. I was hoping for an early faint line at least. We are not out yet. FX'd still.

Hi all,

Tested yesterday morning (11dpo) and had a BFN. Was quite disappointing and surprising... Will test again tomorrow morn (13 dpo) and call it after tomorrow's test.

Maybe it was just me...but I was very optimistic and positive about IUI #1 sticking!! I know that sometimes it can take multiple IUI's...but in the moment it's hard to remember that.

Hi all,

I am doing okay, thanks for asking. It is definitely AF...very heavy bleeding. At first I felt as if I'd had a miscarriage because I had almost convinced myself that I might be pregnant, but then I came to the realization that nothing has really changed. There never was a baby, and I can try again soon. My DH and I have decided not to try this month though since I was unable to have an HSG last month due to my heavy bleeding lasting so long. I don't know for sure if everything is functioning properly. The doc said that after a C-section, it's possible for my tubes to become blocked. My DH and I feel that we should probably find out for sure that everything is working ok before we waste more money on meds and treatments. My HSG is Thursday. Wish me luck! Hopefully I can start another cycle in 4 weeks or so, but sometimes I need Provera to make AF come, which can take another 10 days. Might not be able to start anything until late July, but I know God has the best timing so I will just have to be patient.

I'm sorry to hear so many of you got BFN's, but don't lose hope yet. It's still really early. I was really hoping there would be at least a few BFP's amongst our little group. Keep us up to date on your progress.
