I EBF for 6 months. I started to wean then, very slowly. She really hasn't complained so far. I introduced a bottle at 2 weeks just so she'd get used to it & from about 4 months on at night she'd get 4-5 ounces of BM in the bottle with no trouble.
Now that I am down to BFing only 2-3 times in a 24 hour period she is suddenly refusing the bottle from me (she takes an ounce and turns away & cries). While I am working (part time), she takes it from my mom no problem.
My goal this week was to get down to first thing in the morning BF & around 5 pm, thats it. DD has other plans. What to do? DH works like 80 hours a week so that's not going to happen.
Re: Suddenly won't take a bottle from me
Unfortunately, it sounds like LO is telling you she doesn't want to wean. You either force her, or you follow her cues.
Is there a reason why you want to wean now and begin paying for formula? It sounds like you have a pretty decent nursing relationship.
