Nap Strike: Day 2. Any Advice?

She simply will not go to sleep. My sister watches her a couple of day a week when I have to go into the office and hasn't been able to get her to nap today or yesterday. Anyone else experience this? I think Crystal mentioned something similar last week. How did you deal? She is falling down tired and super short-fused by the end of the day.

Re: Nap Strike: Day 2. Any Advice?

  • N did this last week. On day 3 I left a handful of books and her baby and let her be. She played for awhile, yelled to get up, cried a few minutes and eventually fell asleep. She's back to normal this week.

Sad We haven't had consistent naps since she was about 14 months old. It wasn't a huge issue until she decided a couple of weeks ago that her new wake up time is 5:30 AM. I'm about to lose my mind by the time 7 PM rolls around. Hopefully, this is just a phase for you and she's teething or something and will go back to napping. Violet just doesn't get tired some days, so at least I don't have to deal with an overtired kid all the time but on days that she fights sleep, it's the worst. I don't really have any advice. We usually sit up in her room, reading books, with the sound machine on and then I put her in her crib with a few books and leave. Sometimes she'll talk to herself for 30 minutes before yelling at me to come and get her. I don't have any real advice other than sympathy that no naps suck really hard.

Lady I need to brave the heat, drive out to where you are and take you drinking! I'm sorry. That sucks. I like your chill pout suggestion though. I work from home tomorrow and Monday and if she pulls the no nap crap on me this is what I'll do. Thanks. Hang in there!

Does your sister keep DD at your house or hers?  My DS will not take naps when he goes up to the IL's house.

Lol! It had cooled down here for a few days but it was definitely blazing today Devil We do need to get together sometime but I would much rather drive to the beach than have you drive to the IE. Smile

That works for me. We should do another So Cal GTG at the beach!

My sis comes here. She always have. I went back to work March 1st of last year so they've been in their routine for a while. We have talked about E going over to my sis' place one day a week so my sis can get things done around her house, and E can have a change of scenery and play with my sister's dog. We may start that in the next few weeks.
