Bahaha! I have a 9 week old....I'm proud that I have brushed my teeth today!
My house is actually usually pretty clean. (thanks to my hubs...he "enjoys" cleaning) It doesn't ever get dirty....maybe a few laundry piles...but that's it.
I am trying to get better but I would say that there is almost always something in my house that needs to be tidied unless we are about to have guests over that day or it is the evening and DH and I have just finished cleaning.
I'd be okay with it. I think my guests standards are lower than most though.
There's mail on the counter, a few toys on the LR floor but it's dusted, vacuumed, the bathrooms are decent and the dishes are done, so good enough for me.
It's just the day to day life stuff out right now.
It's 'acceptable' lol. I try to keep it pretty straight and pretty clean; it's by no means spotless or anything like that but I wouldn't panic if someone was at the door. The only major mess is the toys in our family room from playing this morning, but I don't do a big clean up until after dinner.
ETA: I should be doing a straightening up now while DS is napping but it's gray and rainy here today and I'm really having a hard time getting anything done! :P
Yes! Sparkling and spotless. We did our big Spring cleaning over the weekend. It's so invigorating and I actually feel like I can breathe easier. Not that it's ever anything more than cluttered, but knowing that even the closets are organized feels amazing.

No. My house is probably never clean enough for me to happily have guests over without at least a little tidying up. If it is, it's probably because I've been getting ready for guests!
Does anyone with kids really have a house that clean? Maybe if you have a play room you can shut the door on? Or maybe if you have lower expectations on what is company-worthy clean?
Mine is but I've got a cleaning routine that I find easy to keep up with. I've got a place for everything and I do a little cleaning every day so it never piles up. DH is a big help with housework, too, so he plays a big part in the overall cleanliness of our casa.
Yes... well, there are a few crumbs under the table. And a couple of dishes on the counter from lunch. But if someone stopped by right this second I wouldn't have a total heart attack.
But I'm a weirdo. I grew up in a pig sty so keeping an uncluttered house is important to me. I keep up on it all day long (a little bit here and there) so it's not usually overwhelming.
Yes! DH did a HUGE cleanup of the house, including all the laundry prior to me coming home from the hospital yesterday because I have strict orders to rest that clash horribly with my OCD like tendencies and he knew if the house was a wreck, I'd never rest. Plus my kids are at school/daycare today so the human wrecking ball effect hasn't started yet. Added bonus: yard is immaculate because DH dedicated the afternoon yesterday to it. DH gets a big high five for the past several days actions! (Too bad pelvic rest and double pneumonia rule out much more than that!)
No. It would take me a couple minutes to tidy up but our carpet is horrible and needs a good cleaning. My kid is in a throwing food stage and always manages to miss the splat mat. We do spot cleaning but it's in bad need of a steam clean.

AAAAwwww. You can give your H a high five from probably everyone here! Very awesome of him for taking care of everything for you; hopefully you feel better soon!
Oh no! I usually have to do some varying degree of tidying depending on what is going on that day, for instance today the dog has been sick and DD won't sleep and I need a shower!
Right now, yes. However, my Dds therapist was over this morning and we've been out all day. I make no promises about my house in another two hours when the kids have woken.
Yes, it's clean and I could invite guests over. The only thing I would need to 'tidy up' is a section of the kitchen counter that turns into our catch all. Besides that, it's clean.
It's mostly good. The playroom is a mess, but anyone who judges a messy playroom doesn't value creativity :P. The rest of the house is presentable, as it generally is since I don't let the kids bring toys around.
It's not too bad, but definitely not perfect. Beds are made and dishes are done before we leave the house, always. Things are put away and there is no clutter, but I have definitely been slacking on the floors. In my defense, H is doing work on our mudroom/half bath/laundry area. Also I am just tired, 3rd tri is starting to get me
In a few weeks we will be using a cleaning service for a couple months and I cannot wait
It looks ok and I wouldn't panic if someone showed up. If I knew someone was coming I would tidy up a little. It would take 10min or so to feel really ok with having guests except for the playroom but I don't worry about that.
If they would just be hanging out in the main living spaces, yes. If they ventured up to the bedrooms, no.
We're in the process of rearranging rooms and moving the downstairs playroom to the nursery so there is furniture and toys in random places up there. I finished the former playroom space first so it would be okay if anyone stopped by though.
No, it isn't clean enough to invite guests over without needing to tidy up. It isn't super messy either - I wouldn't be mortified if someone showed up unannounced.
I'd be okay with company right now. It's not spotless, ds' highchair is hanging out in the middle of the kitchen, and there's a pair of shoes, an empty glass, and a package of baby wipes in the living room, but it's clean.

Yes, with the exception of having to pick up a towel off the entryway floor from wiping off the dogs feet.
I follow a pretty strict weekly cleaning schedule and tidy up the house every night. I'm a little OCD about having a clean house.
