I worry about overfeeding because I have never seen A stop eating of his own volition.
Yesterday He ate 27 oz of formula.
Plus 2 handfuls of yogurt melts, an egg, a half of a piece of toast, 2 strawberries, a scoop of some pasta salad and 4 oz of chicken/mixed veggie puree.
Is this too much food? or does it sound about right for those of you feeding table foods? He did go from eating 32 oz to 27 yesterday with the upping of "real" food. But he is still eating more than the recommended formula, so that doesn't worry me.

Re: My kid is a tank... is this too much?
At the urgent care, he was exactly 24 1/2 lbs.
Okay, this makes me feel a little better. DH just made me feel like it was SO MUCH food. Really at A's nine month check last week he was only 18.5 pounds, so I am not sure where he puts what he eats, because before we started table foods stronger he was eating about 14 oz of purees with 32 oz of formula.
You must have arms of steel carrying H around. Abigail is under 19 lbs. and it feels like my arm is going to fall off.
I thought the recommended amount at this age was still up to 32oz??
ETA: I meant to say that it sounds pretty normal to me!

They are so active right now. Think of how starving you are after helping a friend move or swimming a long time. They do this every day.
As it gets warmer, I think their thirst could increase and BM and formula have the right balance of electrytes. I get more thirsty when I'm hot. He is willing to drink water but I think his go to is what he's always known.
Guidelines are vague and don't account for the random idiosyncrasies of individual children.
And, vegetables have almost no calories in them.
Babies aren't stupid. As long as you offer healthy food and formula/breastmilk, they will take as much as they like. It's adults who over eat.
Wow - we're way off. I'll have to ask the Dr on Monday about that because I swear she said not to drop any bottles just yet.

This. 20oz was the recommended I got at his 9 month appointment, so as long as he stays at or over that I am not worried about his intake.
I can't believe he's eating these types of foods already, when did you start introducing them? Seems like it'll be a lot easier when DS can eat what we are, he also hates formula and tops out at18 oz a day.
I think the recommendations are different if you are talking about BM or Formula.
The Pediatrician gave us a sheet at DS's 9 month appointment that he would slowly start taking less breast milk over the next few months. He gave us a sheet that said that at 9 months the recommended mimimum for BM was 24 oz and for 10/11 months it was 19 oz.. If you provide breastmilk at 12 months and beyond the minimum/average was 14 oz. These are minimums though, he never mentioned a maximum amount.
The sheet also said for formula they would consume 24-32 oz a day for 9-12 months (so I assume the minimum would be 24 oz.). Since we don't FF I didn't ask for details.
I've been since 5.5m. Hotdogs are the newest to the list. I wanted to wait till he had better chewing motion and working on his pincer grip. As for pancakes he's just now really getting used to the chewing. He prefers then with a little butter and syrup. Sloppy joes are with turkey so easier on his tummy.
ds#1 barely eats enough to stay alive (he is actually considered "underweight" by CDC standards/BMI.
ds#2 on the other hand is a complete pig. He will eat usually 12-16oz of purees per day, plus puff, coconut milk bites, wafers, etc. As far as formula (he is on neocate) we go through about 24oz per day as well.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~
