pulled round ligament

Has anyone else lifted to much and pulled or strained their round ligament? Stupid me folded up a futon (from bed to couch mode) last night and today my groin and right side of my belly hurts. not a ton but I know its there when I walk or move around alot. Called the doc and she said pretty hard to hurt the baby at this point (35 weeks) and pretty much just hurt myself. (is this true?) Please tell me Im not alone - thinking I could do things I appeartly cant anymore.

  • I think the lack of responses is prob bc we all hurt right now and no one is comfortable.

Asking if what your dr said is true makes me laugh btw.

well I thought after I called. She probably thought the pain came and went, but it's pretty constinent. Laughing at someone who is really concerned and worried is pretty rude. I was just seeing if anyone else has done what I did
  • Or maybe that's why people don't reply to you.

  • Round ligament pain sucks, although I don't know what it's like to pull one. I would take it easy for the next few days so you don't pull it even more. I have noticed that sudden movements and lifting can strain mine as well. I actually sneezed today and had some sharp round ligament pain, and getting in and out of the swimming pool caused some uncomfortable pulling sensations. I wouldn't want to be dealing with painful pulled muscles during labor, so rest and let it repair itself, and make sure to stretch before doing anything active. If your dr doesn't think it's a problem, then don't worry. I doubt pulled ligaments can harm the baby.

  • Yeah, I can get the sharp pain just by getting out of bed too fast at night for bathroom breaks or like today, at supper, laughing too hard. It seems anything to sudden sets it off. But when that happens, I rub that muscle vigorously and it usually subsides. Sounds like you actually pulled something though. Definitely no more furniture moving for you. :P
