1st Trimester

Hungry unsettled tummy

I'm six weeks Pregnant and I find that I am often hungry all the time. Nothing seems to stop the hunger. I find that if I don't eat enough more then usual I start to feel nauseous. I'm not craving much, but I do find foods I normal like the idea of them turns me off. It seems backwards?

Re: Hungry unsettled tummy

  • This sounds normal to me. Normally I love salads and veggies, but when I was pregnant with DS the thought of them made me sick.  But I was always hungry.   I used to stop twice a week when I would be getting home from work at 3:30 to get pizza and French fries.  Then I would eat dinner with DH when he got home. Embarrassed

I say if you are  hungry, eat!  That is my favorite part of early pregnancy before I can feel the baby move :)

  • Sounds like indigestion to me. There is a form of indigestion that makes you have hunger pains even when you are stuffed full! It's an irritation of the lining of the stomach, and it can make you feel nauseous when you go too long without eating (and eating will often make you feel like gagging).  I had this several months ago. You might be able to find some relief with tums.
  • I am dealing with the same thing right now. It is actually how I knew I was pregnant. I have only ever experienced indigestion during pregnancy. With my daughter the doctor had to tell me what it was. I just felt like I had something stuck in my chest. With this pregnancy I immediately started having indigestion. By immediately I mean at 3 weeks. The pregnancy test kept coming up negative. I waited for my period which, surprise, never came. We are 7 weeks now. I really want to enjoy this pregnancy. With my first I was sooo excited that I was anxious the whole 9 months. Hopefully one we get through the 1st trimester I can enjoy it.
