Tightening that doesn't come and go?

So last night and tonight, I've noticed a tightening in the front of my belly.  It doesn't really hurt, is just annoying and slightly uncomfortable.  It's when I'm sitting on the couch and relaxed with my feet up and I'm not short on water drinking.  My initial thought was Braxton Hicks, but it doesn't really come and go.  It's present and feels about the same until I get up.  It's almost a stretching/burning type of feeling, but just low across the middle of my abdomen.

I never had anything like this with DS, but also never had Braxton Hicks.  I see my OB in the morning for a check up, so I'll ask her.  But anyone have any ideas?

  • Same with me, didnt have it before with DS. I asked mr dr and she said its braxton hicks, It gets hard like a rck then softens but doesnt come and go. At first I thought it was the baby pushing on my uterus. ANd yes I get the stretching sensation when it happens.

  • Hmm.  I just don't feel like mine gets hard, then softens.  It just feels tight.  And stays that way until I get up.  I feel like that doesn't make sense, but I don't know how else to describe it!  I'm sure she'll tell me tomorrow that it's Braxton hicks though!

  • An extended tight feeling is normal at this point.  Baby is running out of room and growing out at a faster rate so the muscles/ligaments are going to feel tight as they stretch.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • That makes sense.  Baby is certainly running out of room.  I never got to this point with DS.  He was on the smaller side and I stayed small, even at 37 weeks.  I'm already as big, or bigger now, than when he was born! :(  Thanks for the comments ladies!

Been like that past few days saw my ob today and she said its normal. As long as I'm not in severe pain or have bleeding.

I've been having the same feeling these last 2 days, I figured this morning I would wake up to a much bigger bump, unfortunately it's still tight this morning. What PP say seems logical though, it's probably just baby running out of room.

I've had a similar feeling several times during this pregnancy, but it's normally on nights after I've worked out and possibly over did it.  It doesn't come and go so I never figured it was BH.    It's always gone away so I never gave it that much thought.
