OB/GYN recommendations for the TX Children's Women's Pavillion?

Hello,

I'm looking to switch my OB/GYN. I love my doctor but the practice has recently gone through a staff change. The check-in people are rude and his new nurse does not come off as pleasant either. I've been having a gut feeling to change since the beginning of my pregnancy, but I tried to come up with every excuse not to; especially since my doctor delivered my first child. However, I've been getting every reason to change. Well on my way to the doctor's office, I always see a billboard that has TX Children's Hospital Women's Pavilion, which I've done some research about it. My question is, has or does anyone have any recommendations for an OB/GYN that service the TX Children's Hospital?

Thanks!Smile

  • The Women's Specialists of Houston use Texas Children's Pavilion for Women for delivery.  This practice is right next door and is a large group of OB/GYNs plus a midwife practice.  713-797-1144

I see the midwives and will be delivering there in early November.  I haven't had the tour yet, but have heard nothing but great things.

  • I see Dr. Stacy Strehlow she works in collaboration with the Texas Children?s Fetal Center. She is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist and she is amazing!

  • My OB/GYN when I was in Houston was David Zepeda at  The Women's Specialists of Houston. He is amazing and I know he now delivers at the TX Children's Women's Pavilion.

  • Ditto about the Women's Specialist of Houston. I see Dr Bobo in that practice, and she's fantastic.  I also saw Dr. Espana once when Dr. Bobo was out, and he was also great.  In fact, I haven't heard anything bad about any of the doctors there  pretty much everyone seems to rave about her specific doctor there.

They're currently in the St. Luke's tower, but will be moving next door to the new Women's Pavillion this week or next (week of Sept 17 or week of 23rd).

  • I just had my first appointment with Dr. Espana and he is AMAZING. I have heard so many great things about him and my RE referred me to him. He's by referral only right now but I'd be happy to let you use my name! or for anyone who would like to see him!
  • I have been seeing Dr. Carla Ortique for gyn needs for over 2 years now. She is now helping me to conceive.

  • I use Dr. Susan Shi and she is wonderful.  My husband's uncle is Dr. Bob Carpenter who is a high risk obstetrician who has trained many a doctor here in Houston.  He highly recommended Dr. Shi and her group...hope that helps!
  • YEs, Dr. Espana delivered my twins and he is the best doctor ever! I actually recommended him to a best friend of mine and she just had her baby delivered by him 4 days ago! Best doctor hands down.
  • I LOVE DR. WIENER! SHES AMAZING, HER PERSONALITY MADE ME VERY COMFORTABLE. I INITIALLY WAS REFERRED TO DR. ZEPEDA BUT HE WAS BOOKED FOR THE MONTH OF MAY SO I ENDED UP SEEING ONE OF HIS "HAND AND HAND" DOCTORS. SHES GREAT! I DELIVERED AT 3.46AM AND SHE SHOWED UP EVEN THOUGH SHE WASNT ON CALL. I WAS VERY PLEASED! SHES HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE IN MY BOOK! GOOD LUCK! :)
  • My Ob/Gyn is Dr. Hailey Hall and we LOVE her! She is very young which we like because she will always be there to grow with me and my needs as a woman. My husband loves her and my little boy adores her. She is very sweet and was there for me even when not on call to deliver our new baby. Currently she is at Methodist through the end of February and is then joining The Womens Specialists of Houston at the Womens Pavilion on March 1, 2014 and I am very excited to follow her there! I highly recommend her to all of my friends and family. Her website is www.drhallobgyn.com
  • OH!!!! I forgot, Dr. Hall was just named a "Rising Star" for the second year in a row by Super Doctors which is published yearly in Texas Monthly. She is very well respected. I was told her old nurse, Jennifer, who is adorably sweet is already working at her new practice and will maybe be her nurse at The Womens Specialists of Houston too.
