Hi, I'm Jane, 32 years old. I'm a professor, and my husband is a great guy just a few years older. To my delight, I got a positive pregnancy test a few days ago. And now, since I am super-excited, I'm going to just babble about it for a while.
For the most part, I think things should go well. I have a few chronic health problems, including asthma, allergies, upper digestive problems and fibromyalgia, but all my doctors green-lighted this pregnancy in advance.
Thus far, I'm getting some symptoms but not awful. A little queasy, a lot drowsy. Also, I've had some trouble concentrating, and tend to feel dizzy when I stand up too fast.
I've actually gained a couple pounds already, and some of my pants don't fit. The early weight gain actually reassures me, because I'm fairly thin and tend to have a hard time gaining weight. My MIL gets psychic credit, though: She asked if I was pregnant a full six days before I figured it out!
My biggest concern at this point is nutrition. I have NO FREAKING CLUE how I'm going to get vitamin pills down. It's just not happening, I can't swallow them, they hurt my stomach so bad, etc, etc. Stuff like Ensure makes me horribly nauseous when NOT pregnant, and heavily fortified cereals are almost as bad. Plus, I've recently had an increase in mild food allergies, which means I need to do pregnancy nutrition while redesigning my diet around the allergies. Grrrr.
Well, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, hopefully she'll help with the nutritional stuff. Then, to select obstetrician.
But that's just details. Mostly I'm so happy I can barely restrain myself from hugging everybody I see.
Re: New mommy-to-be, excited and anxious.
Hey, PHXmom2be, thanks for the suggestion.
The gummies are better, but they still tend to irritate my stomach lining. The folic acid pills only irritate my stomach a little bit, though, so I might just keep taking those and see if I can get enough iron from food.
Have you tried taking vitamins at night? I can usually keep them down then.

OP - Look for Cara1024 - she also suffers from fibromialgia
Yup, same here with the pants, I went and got two new pairs with a bigger waist line yesterday, otherwise people would definitely notice that I was hanging out of my pants and would get suspicious. Only getting larger in the waist and chest though, rest of me seems the same size.
