2nd Trimester

Does your LO have "quiet" days?

I'm a little over 22 weeks, and I've felt constant movement since about 19 weeks.  The last week or so, he's been going crazy in there.  Today, I've only felt him kick once.  I've heard of people talking about movement slowing down once in a while, but I guess I just kind of need some reassurance? I've tried drinking a little soda and lying down, and got nothing.

  • Soda does nothing for LO, try some juice.

  • Yeah, sometimes she's kicking non-stop, and other times she's being lazy. I think part of it might be my AP getting in the way of a lot of movements.

Yesterday, she was pretty quiet till last night. Then she thought it great fun to kick my full bladder!

  • Mine has days that I barely feel it move and then other days I feel it move a ton.  (Nothing I eat or drink - soda, juice, caffeine, candy, etc - has effect on my LO's movement.)
  • Mine definatly has quiet days and it seems like nothing I do or eat or drink effects how much or how little it moves around.

  • Mine had a major slow down for almost a week when I was 24 weeks or so. I was worried for a couple days, but then I read that it's normal for LO's to have slow days. He was still moving, but just not as much. I usually drink OJ and that gets him going pretty good!

  • My LO will have one or two (or sometimes three) very active days in a row, then a day of relative quietness.  If you don't feel any movement, then I'd worry, otherwise your LO is just recuperating and will probably be active again tomorrow.

  • NOPE. SHE'S BEEN BALLS TO THE WALL SINCE 16 WEEKS. I WONDER WHEN SHE SLEEPS.
  • Yep, it's totally normal. Remember that your baby is only human, too, so he/she needs days to rest.

  • Absolutely! My LO had been very active and then for three days I barely felt any kicks at all. The other day I drank THREE glasses of orange juice ( I couldn't help myself...it's SO good!) and she was the most active she has ever been. I was even able to SEE her move in my belly. So cool. She was kicking the crap out of me, but I didn't complain at all. :-)
