March 2012 Moms

So. Tired.

So I have discovered that being the mom to a toddler is way more exhausting than being the mom to a newborn. Different exhaustion for sure.

Then you add in a morning like this.

4:30am: DH's alarm clock goes off. He hits snooze a couple times and gets up at like 5:05.

5:10/15: DH comes to tell me he can't get the TV to turn on. I come out and push the button on the DISH box. Ta-da! Go back to bed. DD starts fussing. DH takes care of it.

5:45: DH brings DD to me because she won't calm down anymore. She refuses to go back to sleep. Wants to play. We get up at 5:55.

She usually wakes up at 7 so this was a very early morning. When I'm used to waking up at that time, no problem. But I'm not used to it so I'm like the walking dead right now.

I just love when my husband tries to take care of DS but brings him to me after like 5 minutes because he has no idea what to do! Moms do it better I guess :)

He did try the best he could and for awhile. Hard when he is trying to pack him lunch and get out the door by 6. I could hear that DD wasn't going to calm down. It was the "the tv won't turn on" thing that got me.

DD ended up eating a massive breakfast and lots of milk. Apparently, she was just super hungry and couldn't sleep through it anymore.

I am tired, and I feel like the work is never done.  Like now, when I'm tired and need to rest, the dishes are all over the counter.  We've been out at the pediatrician's office all morning and just got home for her nap.  Yesterday and the day before we were gone from 7:30am until 5pm.  Just home in time for dinner/bath/bed..last night though had to squeeze in voting and also picking up meds before the routine..This momma is very tired too and when I want to rest now, I need to get these dishes done as I've got a hair cut in the afterrnoon and music class tomorrow.  No hubby around to help.

Hang in there...It's terrible when you start counting down to bedtime so you can pass out yourself :) I can not wait for 7:30 to roll around..

  • That is a bummer, I'm sorry!

I feel mentally and physically exhausted by the end of the day with DS. Today I feel like all I did was tell him "no" 500 times and keep him from pulling everything out of his dresser and our entertainment center which was met with fit throwing every.single.time. To top it off, he got kicked out of gym daycare during my workout for crying excessively. He's a tough kid on a good day, but he definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed today! Ever since dropping to 1 nap his sleep habits have been terrible so he's extra crabby it seems.

What really sucks is that DH doesn't get home until 7pm, so I feel like I never get a real break during his work week. I am a SAHM (love it and wouldn't trade it for the world), but there are days I think working wouldn't be so bad.

misery loves company..and I don't think it matters if you are a SAHM or a work outside the home mom.. it's still rough sometimes. there are some days after a crap day at work I just want to come home and chill ( chill = laundry, dishes, cooking, paying bills .. lol ) and hubby has to goto bed and sleep and munchkin is teething and /or hungry full of beans and on the go and It feels like I am never going to get anything done.

Hubby gets up and I goto bed with said energizer bunny.. no SSTN here, he's good but not THAT good lol

    rinse and repeat

my DH Is awesome, he has no choice but to coparent  and some days it feels like he does a better job at it and housework than I do.... some days I just feel useless as a mom .. but it doesn't last long .. one smile or a giggle and I know we're doing ok... just an unconventional ok LOL
