boys vs. girls

I have one of each, so I can't tell if it's just my kids or if the stereotype is true. I've always heard how sweet and cuddly boys are. My DD, 3, is all over the place. She never sat still as a baby, never wanted to be held much, never would cuddle, I could never even rock her to sleep, I always had to put her down awake, even as a toddler if I lay with her she just trys to play. Now she will watch a movie with me, but she's still got a very strong-willed personality. DS, 12 months, is really into climbing lately and loves to run around like a typical boy, but he'll also nestle his head against my shoulder and loves to be rocked to sleep, he's just very sweet in general.

Do you notice your boys are more cuddly than your grils?

My little guy is the same. All over the place playing and climbing, then the sweetest cuddlebug. My friend told me her 6 year old boy still wants to cuddle too...of course only when it's just the family there.

Nope, my girl is more cuddly than my boy. My boy can be pretty cuddly when he wants to be though.

My girl has never been cuddly, even as a baby. My boy doesn't want to be rocked to sleep or anything, but he will nuzzle in for a few seconds at a time. Those seconds are glorious to me

I have two girls. My oldest has always been really independent, and never has been all that into cuddling. She only wants to cuddle when she's sick or really, really tired. My little one is a cuddle bug. I don't think it's a girl/boy thing. I think it's a personality thing.

My son is the same as your daughter. He's never been into cuddling, never wanted to be rocked to sleep, always on the go. He's in a twin bed now, and if I try to lay down with him at night, he'll shove me away and say, "my night-night".

Yes! My DS likes to be held and have you walk around and show him things. My DD was never into being in your arms. She always wiggled her way out!

My son is very cuddly when he's tired or isn't feeling well. He loved to be held as a baby.

I'm not sure if it's gender roles, oldest vs. youngest, or just personality, but my DD (oldest) is not super snuggly and my DS is very snuggly. He's my mama's boy.

DS is definitely not a cuddler. I get occasional hugs now, but that's a really recent thing.

My DD is not very cuddly at all, except when sick. Even as an infant, she never liked being rocked to sleep, always wanted to be put to sleep awake. She is very independent though.

DD was cuddly as a baby and like to be rocked, but once she hit toddlerhood she didn't like to snuggle. She's becoming a lot more affectionate (very recent development!)

DS is snuggly when he's tired and likes to be rocked, but for the most part he never stops moving! He's a wild man and doesn't like to be held.

Ditto...My DD was very independent and was not anywhere NEAR as loving as DS. DS is happiest when in my arms. I totally see the difference and concur.
