Re: Monday morning biitchfest!!

  • My car was making a noise driving to work this morning, that usually means to turn up the radio but it was pretty bad so I pulled over. Completely flat tire! Of course I also needed gas this morning so I decided to go a different route than I normally take so none of my coworkers in my area will pass me. DH is on the way bc despite being 29 and driving for over 13 years, I've never changed a tire and I don't want to start this morning, pathetic or not.

  • Since I only have 10 days left of work, they have stopped giving me new projects.  So I am wrapping up my old projects... but that really doesn't occupy all of my day.  Normally, I wouldn't mind that I am hanging out without a TON to do... but I am SOOO tired.  I need a task to keep me awake.  It is going to be a long 10 days.

  • i had a dream that we weren't ready for the baby and it was so real feeling that I woke up really worried and just can't shake it!!!! also, I really don't want to work anymore but I should - two more weeks, I suppose I can do it...but I REALLY don't want to!!!!!!

  • I finally got a few hrs straight of sleep and wake up in a decent mood...my son did't set his alarm for school so now the morning is rushed and then I notice he also wet the bed!!! YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!  He's almost 9, will the bedwetting ever end?!

  • I'm thankful for our families helping us move. However, you think people would be careful of other's stuff. My ILs snapped a leg and side off of DH's desk because they were rushing and just grabbed whatever instead of properly carrying it. We also have to replace both of our bookshelves because they weren't supported in the middle and were ridiculously wobbly after. One actually snapped in half. And then my parents went home with our desk chair in their truck, so we have to figure out how to retrieve it. Sigh.

  • I told DH that I was not doing any dishes yesterday. He is notorious for not doing dishes. I should have known it would end badly.

After lunch, he decided that the dishwasher was "full enough" so he started the cycle.  A few hours later we ate dinner, by this point the dishes in the dishwasher were washed and cooled. He took my plate to the kitchen once we were done eating. I heard him doing some rinsing but knew he had not been in there long enough to actually do anything.

When he came back out into the living room, he said he'd do the dishes "later". I knew then where this was going.

I went to bed at 10pm, dishes were still not done....

Woke up at 6am to a filthy kitchen.

DH was in the office playing games on the computer and drinking coffee.

I said to him " Well, I see the dishes didn't get done last night"

Him "What made you think that they would be?"

Me "Because you told me after dinner that you were going to do them".

Him "But the dishes in the washer were still damp, they needed to dry"

Me "That's what towels are for"

Then he threw a fit because I was being bitchy. Uh, excuse me? Mothers Day is the one day a year that I should not have to do a single dish. It does not mean that I should then have to do all the dishes the following day.

Next year I'm buying paper plates.

Seriously. I have a friend and her husband took her out to breakfast and dinner yesterday. She said she didn't even care that he was taking the "lazy way out" because sure he could cook, but then she would have to clean up after him. Sort of ruins it. Paper plates sound fantastic.

I have this argument almost daily with DH. We had this "agreement" that whoever cooked wouldn't clean. HA!  We've been married almost 7 years and I don't even think he's ever made dinner once!  And he's notorious for leaving the dishes until the next morning thinking he'll do them before he leaves the house. But 9 times out of 10 I come home to a sink filled with dishes at 6:00 at night and have to wash most of them (pans and such) before I can make dinner.  UGH DH!!  lol

I don't know what is wrong with my dog but the last two nights he has woken up whining several times in the night.  I always get up and take him out but I don't think that's the issue.  It's so frustrating because half the time DH doesn't hear him and last night he asked me if I was just dreaming.  I am hoping he is just getting too warm and once we turn on the AC today, he will calm down.  I need to sleep!!

Also, everytime I think we are close to being ready for baby, I realize there is still so much to do!  GAH!

For mother's day my husband's stepsister gave his stepmom tickets to see Keith Urban. There were 3 tickets in the envelope. One for his stepmom, one for his stepsister, and one that his actual sister had bought herself...I wasn't even asked if I wanted to buy my own ticket so that all of us could go.

This is not the first time something like this has happened, they do stuff without me a lot...I really don't feel like they think of me as family. (In reality, I am legally in the family through marriage, his stepmom isn't even actually married to his dad but they still call her their stepmom).

While I love the idea of Baby seeing family, etc, I don't know how much traveling I want to do- why can't for ONCE people come to us? It's been a decade of us traveling to everyone else... reciprocation would be nice! B. I don't really want to take a 9 hour drive just to hang with Baby at your cabin far away from his/her Daddy who will be working, and our doctors, because we still need to see how baby's testing comes back and C. I would like to adjust to being a mom in my own home oh and also D. We are likely to be in the closing process on our house as this Baby arrives so yeah traveling around the whole of the Northeast is just a bit much right now. SHEESH!

I thought I was going to make it through without experiencing it... but the start of 3 different angry red stretch marks have made their appearance on my belly.  So much for using bio oil every day Confused

Also, I am really sore all the time right at the start of my legs/hip flexors/pelvic area.  It's making me start to waddle.  I'm only 33 weeks.  I can't imagine what my waddle will look like at the very end.

You should really stand your ground and tell her that.  All of our family lives 20 hours away from us and we are expected to do all the traveling also.  In the last 3 years I have put my foot down and made them come visit us.  We have even offered to split the cost of plane tickets because it is so expensive for us to fly and then rent a car.  So far the only person who has not made the effort to come see us is my father.  I am done going out of my way to try and make other people happy.

I have one more I forgot to add.  Our microwave broke.  Spending $300 on a new microwave wasn't exactly something we were planning on this month.  However, I am glad it happened now instead of while I'm on ML and not bringing in full paychecks - silver lining I guess.

  • I am so sick of lazy coworkers. I have a coworker who has worked 2 full weeks of work sine the middle of January. She has called out at least once a week, or had to go to an appt, or had to come in late due to a "headache". I think it's a horrible excuse, and knowing that we are busy is even worse. So my boss is her "backup" and can't do her job because she is too busy. So because my boss can;t set up anything permanant for a backup I have to push aside stuff that should have been done 2 weeks ago (again) to help out this coworker who has a hangover? I'm so done. 6 more weeks, i keep saying it, 6 more weeks.

  • We're slowing down at work as is what always happens this time of year. Because we aren't able to charge the client as much they can't justify paying multiple supervisors. So our project manager is never there and one team lead is training in another project and the other team lea is running numerous projects. So guess who they have running the floor for second shift? me! Guess who they don't want to give a title because that would mean a pay raise? Me! On top of it, we're very short handed at night and they're not ready for me to leave. And when when we said something to the project manager last week she thought I would only be on leave two weeks an doesn't seem to think there's any possibility ill go into labor before June 18th.

Yes, paper plates next year. I have to say, I am super spoiled. DH cooks most of the time so last night as a change I cooked. He felt bad that he didnt cook for me on mothers day but I said that if I normally cooked then i would complain. But he's no good at the dishwasher, trying to fit things in or emptying.

  • Yesterday was my anniversary, 9 years. DH and I decided to get a sitter and go out to eat. I asked my Dr. last week if I could have a "cheat" dinner since I have been diagnosed with GD. She said yes, just don't test after dinner. I couldn't wait to eat!! I have been wanting P.F. Changs for weeks now, and figured DH would take me there. He instead suggested a steakhouse instead. Ugh....I hate buying steak from a restaurant because they never do my steak right, and I end up paying allot of money for crappy steak. **eye roll** anyway- I decided okay, this is our day..so lets try this steakhouse we've never tried. We get there, it's an okay place. We wait 15 min and get seated. Of course the hostess seats us on the slope of the restaurant, with a giant table so DH can't even reach out and hold my hands, or sit next to me. Not to mention the chairs had no cushions like the rest of the chairs in the restaurant, and the chairs had a low back to them that they killed out backs! To top it all off, we were seated next to a large group with little kids that were running around, climbing on chairs, under tables, and just being really loud. (I love kids...but damn- your in a nice place control your wild kids people!)

So after I look at this menu, I really find nothing that appeals to me, and nothing really that I can cheat on my GD. I decided on a steak. I got it, and it was tough. I sent it back, and asked for them to do it again. Again I get the same steak....and again it was tough. I sent it back and just decided to get the brisket instead. That was served, and it was pure fat almost!! I took one bite and had to spit it into my napkin. All I ate was beans, and a baked potato.

Really disappointed in the restaurant choice that cost us over $100 for crap food- I could make that myself at home for a fraction of what we spent out. There went my cheat night- that wasn't even a cheat night.

I would have been happier going to Denny's and building my own grand slam!

  • This carseat SIL got us is such a headache. It doesn't fit either car. I can't return it because it wasn't on our registry. I could ask her for the order number and return it that way but I know she'd be all "Oh, you don't like the super nice gift I got you?" because she's not a big fan of me and I don't want to deal with the drama. I asked DH what he wants me to do. We could probably use it when he's older and it doesn't need to recline but it's a pricey car seat so we could use the $$ toward other stuff.

  • I've been coughing up or blowing out my nose massive amounts of phlegm since Friday. YUM. My head hurts and I've gone through a box and a half of Kleenex all by myself.  So my nose is also all scabby and raw.

I've had more than a few people tell me "That means the baby is near!" I still have six weeks; shut up and don't get excited and start hoping that will happen.  I made a snippy remark last night about how "I can't live like THIS for six more weeks," and a friend said "Oh yes you can! It'll all be worth it when you hold that snugly [sic] baby in your arms!" I wanted to punch her in the face.

My groin/upper thigh muscles keep randomly sliding out of place (or at least that's what it feels like). I scared my husband when we were doing dishes b/c I yelled out and bent over -- he thought I was having a contraction.  Poor thing.

Just because it isn't on your registry doesn't mean you can't take it back. We received several things that weren't on our registry and they took them back no questions asked.  You should definitely be able to get a car seat that fits in your car (and much cheaper to replace that than to replace your vehicle...)...wherever she got it, try to take it back, I bet they won't raise an eyebrow and will give you a store credit.

Sorry but that's a really stupid thing to say. Yes, he screwed up and personally I'd have walked out the door, but what good is there in screwing their finances? The revenge mentality will only hurt her and Baby more in the process! If she's concerned about him spending their money, she should contact their banks or a lawyer, not take all the cards and run off to spend the money- that would haunt her later.

  • Why do people ask what you need for the baby, and then go out and get whatever they feel like getting anyway?

I'm trying to not sound ungrateful, because our friends, family and co-workers have been so generous and have bought up at least half the stuff on our registries. But I had the most baffling conversation this weekend with an older generation relative.

Her: We're so excited about the baby! Tell me what you need. My husband and I want to get you guys something.

Me: You're so sweet to offer! We are all set though, we have more than enough.

Her:  No, I insist. Babies always need something. What can I get you?

Me: We have one registry online and one in a store.

Her: Oh yes. I saw those. I didn't care for anything on there.

Me: (at this point is where I fall into baffled silence and try to figure out what to politely say) ...  That's ok. Like I mentioned, we have everything we need.

Her: You can always use diapers. I will get you diapers.

Me: Great! Those are on the online registry, they're called "Thirsties".

Her: (laughing) Oh honey you've got to be kidding. No I mean real diapers. You'll get tired of those old fashioned ones quick. Get with the times, you can throw away diapers now!

So yeah, that's pretty much how it went. She's getting us diapers. Diapers we don't plan on using.

Get with the times, you can throw away diapers now!

hahahahaha. Oh man thats hilarious. Just return them and get something you need.

So yeah, that's pretty much how it went. She's getting us diapers. Diapers we don't plan on using.
