DD is 25 months. She has been showing pretty clear interest in toiletting for a while now, and she loves coming into the bathroom with us, watching us, pretending to wipe herself, flushing the toilet and saying "bye bye pee pee!" etc. She also enjoys sitting on her potty for fun, and she hates having her diaper changed.
So I decided to try training on Friday. Total fail. As soon as I told her to pull down her pants and sit on the potty, she started a tantrum. Picked up the potty and threw it across the room. Pulled the seat off and threw that. Screamed and yelled. I just walked away and ignored.
I admit I was surprised though. She learns very quickly, so I thought this would work well.
Advice? Thoughts?
Re: Potty training fail
A year? Laugh. I'll try again next month.

This is exactly what I did with DS1 and it was a pretty painless transition from diapers to potty.
