Difficulty staying hydrated...

Anyone else having a really hard time staying hydrated despite drinking a ton of water throughout the day? I guzzle water all day as in, its 11am and I have already had 6 tall glasses of water and am still dehydrated! I don't wake up though the night to drink anything although I am usually up once to pee and I'm wondering if I just get so dehydrated overnight that I have a hard time making up for it through the day? I probably drink an average of 10 to 12, 16 oz glasses of water a day and no caffeine or sodas and I still get headaches and dark urine through the day... I have a dr appt tomorrow and I'm going to bring this up to him, but just curious. I don't remember needing so much water to stay hydrated with ds and was thinking maybe it could be due to the progesterone shots or ? Any ideas, or is this normal and I just forgot?
Thanks ladies! Hope you are all having a wonderful Mother's Day!

  • I notice that a little and I've been drinking a coconut water once a day and it seems to help some...worth a shot. Not super delicious, but if its a little chilled, you can acquire a taste for it. It's like a natural Powerade.

  • try drinking a bottle 32 ounces of gatorade or Powerade.before bed that should help that's what I've been doing on top of all the water, juice , milk and non caffeine teas  , here it's very hot and humid also popsicles help

Try adding something with electrolytes in it, like Gatorade. If you have GD you could do crystal light. Sometimes all that water flushes our your system and you need electrolytes to help retain some of the fluid. When I started adding crystal light my AFI went up and I felt more hydrated.

there are also some "diet" power-aide type drinks you can buy that are low/no sugar.

I drink a lot of sparkling water from Trader Joes. No carbs or anything in it.

  • Thanks for all the ideas ladies! I don't have gd so maybe I'll try the Gatorade idea. Also really liked the suggestion for coconut water. Have a friend who loves it. I'll have to have her pick some up for me, since I'm on mbr. Thanks again!
